I had a look and I really can't split the divisions.

Based on last years results (Mavs d. Kings, Spurs d. Lakers), you would have to say midwest has pacific covered. I would take Houston over Seattle, Clips and Warriors, but probably a little under Phoenix.

Midwest Baby...

Last Year:

Dallas 60-22 Sacramento 59-23
San Antonio 60-22 Portland 50-32
Minnie 51-31 LA 50-32
Utah 47-35 Phoenix 44-38
Houston 43-39 Seattle 40-42
Memphis 28-54 GS 38-44
Denver 17-65 Clips 27-55

overall: overall

333-241 308-266

This year:

Mavs vs. Lakers -> even
Spurs vs. Sacto -> advantage Spurs
Minnie vs. Portland / Phoenix -> advantage Minnie
Houston vs. Portland / Phoenix -> even, maybe slight advantage Pacific
Memphis/Denver vs. Seattle/GS -> advantage Pacific
Utah vs. Clips -> advantage Pacific

Actually - just like last year - Pacific might not have that "all bad" team, still they lose the quality comparison by far. Both division might get 4 Playoff spots, with MW prolly getting 3 out of top-4.

I would definitely say the Midwest. 3 of the top 5 western conference teams reside here as well as the 2 teams from the WCF last year.

very close, but midwest is tougher...that is by last year's stats though so who knows.

If you look at the bottom two teams in each division, the pacific has the decided advantage.
A chain is only as strong as its weakest link...

Aw what the hell, Midwest!

Since when the Mavs and the Lakers are even? Since the moment when the Lakers added two All Stars to make up for the gap between them. But true, they still might have to prove they are even or close to even first. Them beeing the Lakers.

the lakers have won something like 85%+ against the mavs so again. how are the mavs and lakers even? since the spurs beat the lakers shouldn't you be comparing them instead? i have become more amused by the fact that in the past so many mav fans mocked the spurs how old they were and how david robinson was washed up.. now a year later they are saying " now the david is gone the spurs are worse of etc.." lovely. the repeat starts tonight.

It's not just head to head competition, but how the teams far against the rest of the league as well. Both the Mavs and Lakers have made substantial changes to their teams. A large portion of players weren't on these teams for this streak. The past is the past and the comparison is about the present. Also not that Kobe is still something of a question marke for LA.

razap, spur is a very respectable opponent of mavs. although I don't enjoy their playing style as much as I enjoy mavs', I consider them my second favorite team to root for, and they are definitely title contender as long as td is healthy.

mavs and spurs have been playing some of the great b-ball when they played each other the last 3 seasons, and there is no reason to believe otherwise this season.

with the improvement both teams made, I hope these 2 teams meet again in wcf this season, and put up yet another great serie performance.

without a doubt, the stringest division is: Mr. T
