HAPPY NEW YEAR
GO MAVS

Now that the Knicks have traded away Antonio for Starbary, it is clear that the Mavs have Rasheed in their hands, if cuban takes advantage of it. Stephen A Smith was saying on fastbreak that the knicks were trying to acuire rasheed for Antonio. Thats out the window. I think that the blazers talked about that deal and said no, because the MAVS can offer to us so much more and better talent. Think about it, that mavs have more talent in the NBA to do a trade with anybody. Cuban said he is not trading any of the big 6 unless something good really pops up. I would like to think that this is huge. If we get rasheed, we automatically be the favorites to win it all. Whether its finley, Jamison, or walker that we trade, rasheed does the samething as they do but better. Let me hear what you guys think.

I think this should go in the trade and draft board.

How does Wallace do the same thing as finley. They both play totally different positions.

well

Wallace it's a better defender than any of our players and he can play 3,4 or 5 the roster would be great.

Nash, Finley, walker, nowitzki and wallace and a bench of howard, bradley, najera and fortson and best/daniels/del would become a defensive bench, what more could you ask of a bench.

But i think somebody will have to go with wallace i tought najera was the best option but just last week cuban talked to najera about going back to have more time in his pos. after the new year, so i think it would be AJ and somebody else.

Well, I think that we would do a Jamison for Wallace package today. I just get the feeling that Portland is holding out for Walker or even Finley. Would Dallas do that? I doubt it...but I can't shake this feeling that we are positioning ourselves for a trade through the media every time we say that we will go to the playoffs with this team. But maybe we really will? Nothing will surprise me. I guess I'll just wait and see.

I don't want to go to playoffs with this team.

I think whe we get to play SA or Lakers to defend them in 7 games will be imposible 2 or 3 yes but after they get our strategies they will know how to stop us and we will now how to stop them but we just don't have to guys to do it.

Dirk it's way too soft to stop Shaq or even Malone and Walker it's the same way, Fortson can stop Malone or at put some body on him but he can't stop Shaq and Najera can make some trouble for Malone but still malone is stronger and they are our toughtest players.

First off, HAPPY NEW YEAR! i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif

Secondly, anything that comes out of Stephen A. Smith's Big Mouth is usually horse-dung.

Finally, There will be no...I repeat....NO trade for Ra-WEED Wallace. I have a feeling that Cuban may stick with the players he's got now and evaluate them in the offseason....

I've been starting to get that same feeling about this group. I believe any major changes may come in the off-season. I don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing. I know that I like the guys that are here, and I really want them to have great success. But at the same time, I kind of doubt this team's ability to have GREAT success in the playoffs as currently constituted. I think the defense is still bad - sometimes very bad. I think the rebounding is not as great as everyone would like to believe. I think we're still soft in the middle.

The thing that bothers me is that I don't think these guys playing together is going to necessarily fix all of those problems. Neither, I'm afraid, will the return of Bradley and Najera.

The way I kind of feel is that if this team isn't good enough to win a championship, then we need to try to get people in here who are good enough to win it all. I think we should do that as quickly as we can because the sooner everyone is together, the sooner we get better. We may not be able to win this season with or without a trade - I hope not - but it's a distinct possibility. If this team can't win though, let's bring in guys now so we'll have the necessary familiarity and chemistry that everyone has been talking about for next year and the coming years.

Still, I continue to hope that the players we currently have start to really click and do a lot of damage. I would rather not be forced into making a deal. My point is that to win it all, we may be forced to act eventually.

I wouldn't hesitate to trade Walker for Rasheed. Apparently, though, a New York radio station is reporting the following, from RealGM.com:

According to the WFAN 660 radio station in NY, Isaiah Thomas has offered Keith Van Horn, Frank Williams, and Michael Doleac in exchange for Rasheed Wallace.

I don't know why Portland would do this trade. If I were them I'd rather have Jamison than this group. If Portland does bite, then the Knicks just become a real threat with a starting 5 of Marbury, Houston, Wallace, Thomas, Mutombo.

I can't see that one happening. Portland would have to be STUPID to take that deal over putting up w/ Rasheed for 50 more games.

Exactly, let him walk, and Potland is in good cap space next year. No reason to take on KVH's bloated contract, and a couple spares. Lost in all the Wallace trade headlines is the capspace Potland gets if they just allow Rasheed to take a hike next year.

That said if Thomas could make that deal, the Marbury trade looks a whole lot better, and the Knicks are contenders in the East.

On a side note can you imagine the chaos the first time Wallace blows his top in the bubble that is New York.

Did anybody see the game yesterday, honestly i think we are in the time to make a trade, we are good in home court but in the road, everybody can beat us and what's worse they make us look really bad.
Yes we had done pretty well against the others 5 powers but what if we go against utah or clippers in the playoffs.

You know what i hate about this season it's not the losses but who we lost to and that even if they are way inferior to us they had make us look really bad, it's like seeing one of the worse teams of the nba and the worst thing it's that the players look like they just don't care(except the rookies, nash and probably fortson).

We need a trade know if we wait this team it's gonna have some serious trouble.
