Would anybody deal:

Antoine Walker, Best and TAW

for

KVH, Kurt Thomas, Doleac and Trybanski?

I doubt Isiah would do it.

NY doesnt need ANOTHER point guard... They have Marbury, Norris, and Williams, (and are said to be looking towards picking Ward back up)... TAW will likely only get minutes here and there, if any. So with that said, you would suggest that Thomas would deal Walker for Kurt Thomas, Keith Van Horn, Michael Doleac, and Trybanski???

Give me a break... Not even close to a possibility... Isiah would never come off as losing more star talent than gaining it... Now if instead of KVH and Doleac, you said draft picks and cash, well there ya go... The trade would at least become possible... But completely impossible as you have it...

You Toine fans never read... I am CLEARLY TO EVERYONE BUT YOU making fun of Isiah's last trade ever so slightly by pointing out that if you included draft picks and cash ALONG WITH THE OTHER PLAYERS that I didnt remove, (Thomas and Trybanski), then he would be more willing to do it... Not that I would want to...

Read fella... Read... i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif

I wonder if Isaiah would give up a 2nd-rounder to us to take TAW off our hands and cash?? i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif

Only if you included another two first rounders and more cash from the NY front and a NY highschool basketball legend from us!!!

I can't shake this feeling that Donnie and Isiah really may be competeing against each other for Rasheed.

I wouldn't if I was the mavs. You could get more for Walker eventually.

I think Isiah would jump all over this. Best and TAW are just throw ins but Antoine give Isiah another big name. I don't know this for certain, but I would think Isiah would like Antoine.

KVH may not be moved this year but he won't be in NY by the end of next year. Who knows what happens to Thomas. Along with Frank Williams he is about the only tradeable player left on their roster. Williams is young and cheap and Thomas has a very manageable contract.

You could get MORE for Walker than a SF with similar stats, a PF / C and 2 Centers????

I was thinking the same damn thing...

Hell I said as much above... Anyone that thinks he is worth more than what Kiki put in the original trade proposal is just crazy... Maybe he is worth a BIGGER name than any of those guys, but you arent going to get a bigger name PLUS those guys... You either get some filler guys, or another big name type guy, (Rasheed, Z, etc...)!!!

Be reasonable...

After all, we got him for Raef, spares, and Jiri... Boston then said we offered the best package by far... What makes you think all of a sudden Kobe and Shaq will be offered for him... Sure his stock has rised a bit, but COME ON!!!

By far. First you have to throw out the two centers. I would guess they were added to make the deal work by the poster above. Trybanksi is nothing more than a Sundov and Doleac wouldn't play here. He ha a nice jumper for a big guy but he has been passed around the league and will never be more than a third center in the NBa.

I don't care if KVH has similar stats than Walker. Walker is the superior player. I am not even a Walker fan but Van Horn is not the player Walker is. Plus KVH has a horrible contract. The mavs don't need KVH.

I am not a big Kurt Thomas fan either. I would love to have him but he is a decent PF....not a center.

I posted a trade similar to this a few weeks ago that was blasted. I thought this trade would have been interesting but I would have asked for Milos and Lampe to be included to even it out. I still don't think I would have done that trade, but now it is a moot point that Milos and Lampe have been moved to Phoenis.

I never said he has much value now. Wait to next year. He will be in his last year of his contract and he will have excellent value.

What makes you so sure that Walker wouldn't OPT OUT and sign a new long-term contract with the Mavs this offseason, JK? i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif

That right there is the mystery.

This trade won't work. Trybanski isn't available to be traded until March 4th.

This trade would work though:

Dallas trades: Tariq Abdul-Wahad ( ppg, rpg, apg in minutes)
PF Antoine Walker (17.1 ppg, 9.4 rpg, 5.1 apg in 37.9 minutes)
Dallas receives: C Kurt Thomas (11.3 ppg, 9.1 rpg, 2.0 apg in 33.4 minutes)
SF Keith Van Horn (17.0 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 1.7 apg in 34.9 minutes)
C Michael Doleac (4.3 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 0.5 apg in 13.7 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +15.5 ppg, +10.7 rpg, and -0.9 apg.

New York trades: C Kurt Thomas (11.3 ppg, 9.1 rpg, 2.0 apg in 33.4 minutes)
SF Keith Van Horn (17.0 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 1.7 apg in 34.9 minutes)
C Michael Doleac (4.3 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 0.5 apg in 13.7 minutes)
New York receives: Tariq Abdul-Wahad ( ppg, rpg, apg in games)
PF Antoine Walker (17.1 ppg, 9.4 rpg, 5.1 apg in 34 games)
Change in team outlook: -15.5 ppg, -10.7 rpg, and +0.9 apg.

TRADE ACCEPTED

I'd do this one in a NY minute if Isaiah was stupid enough to go for it.

I think you might want to re-evaluate who the stupid one is here in this deal.

MAVS NEED A CENTER!! HELLO?? NOT ANOTHER POWER-FORWARD!!!

LOL.

Thomas is a little short for center, but no shorter than what we got and he's a better shot blocker than our guys his height or less. Doleac has the size to play center.

But the main thing is we get players you are willing to be roleplayers and don't need to dominate the ball like walker. That's what we need. And I'd rather have Thomas defensively at the 4 than Walker. Sure I'd rather have a true 5 so Dirk doesn't have to play there, but Nellie probably wouldn't play him. Doleac would be that 5, but again Nellie wouldn't play him. KVH would be much more willing to be a roleplayer than Walker and the other two are just that essentially.

You can continue to play Dirk at 5 with Thomas at the 4. Doleac is not for his defense, so wouldn't we be right back where we started with him at the 5, except I guess you would have Dirk at the 4 when he was in?

EDIT: BTW, I don't see the trade unless you just want to make a trade.

It doesn't make sense to want to trade a valuable commodity for something you've already got. i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif

Kurt Thomas could get away with playing Center in the LEASTERN CONFERENCE but not here in the west.
