I actually get this game on TV. Its on NBA TV, 601 (730) if you have Directv. I think this could be a tough game for San Antonio. The Grizzlies are playing well lately and San Antonio can only win if someone steps up scoring wise in the place of Duncan. This game could be great news for the Mavs and could really help tie down the Grizzlies place in the Midwest.

Wouldn't be bad if the Grizzlies beat the Spurs. On the other hand, I don't like to rely on the help of others. Let's win all of our own games and there's nothing to worry about. Hope Duncan is back when we play the Spurs again. No more *-games...

26-21 Spurs at the end of the 1st. The Spurs are keeping the tempo way up. Grizzlies aren't guarding around the basket/paint and the Spurs are getting a lot of their points up close. If the Grizzlies can stop/lessen the dunks, layups, and fastbreaks, I think they will come back easily. If they defend like they did in the first, its not gonna happen.

my yahoo game cast screen just shows that orlando started the fourth quarter 0-22 against Boston. That is so pathetic.....

It's 37-37 now. 2:45 left in the half.

Rasho and Turkey-Glue are shooting a combined 11-14.
No one else for SA is doing much of anything.

47-43 Spurs at the half.

Rasho 14 points and 5 rebounds on 7-8 shooting.
Hedo 14 points and 2 rebounds on 5-8 shooting.
Parker 3 points and 2 assists
Manu 3 points and 2 rebounds and 6 assists

Gasol 11 points and 1 rebound.

C'mon Shizzlies...Give us some help.

When the Grizzlies stopped giving open looks and put someone in the paint, they caught up. Too bad they started to let SA get the easy points again.

68-57 SA at the end of three.

Oh, well...Oh hell.

It looks like its turning into a blow-out in favor of the Spurs. Very disapointing. The Duncan-less Spurs don't look as bad as everyone expected, at least in these two games. It does make are big win over them more impressive though.

The Mavs had a hard time beating the Spurs without Duncan/Parker earlier in the season, so it's not surprising they've been able to beat Denver and now Memphis.

It's disappointing because the Mavs needed to gain some ground.

That's true-- they also gave the 'dream-team' Lakers hell without Duncan and Parker and forced two overtimes early in the season. I don't think they are a very good team without Duncan, but they can definitely play hard for a couple of games at a time and win with hustle and energy.

Hey! Looks like the Grizz are mounting a comeback! Within 5!

Why does the Grizzlies run stop once they get ahead by 3!?! Now its only a one point lead and SA has the ball and took a TO. All of tonight the Grizzlies runs end right when they get even with SA.

Grizz win! Yes! Now if we can just take care of business in San Antonio we should be in the driver's seat in the standings.

Parker's line: 3 points... 3 assists....2 TO's ...1-9 shooting and 1-4 Ft.

After great first halfs...Rasho and Turkey-Glue stunk it up.

Memphis outscored SA 24-12 in the 4th quarter..

Yep, that's right...SA scored 12 whole points in the 4th.

Ugly.............

I read on a Spurs board that Pop called Parker out after the game. Said they didn't need a pg who would be a world beater one game and not show up the next. I'm sure it'll be in print tomorrow.

Im glad Parker stepped up his play in this vital game. What was with him? He dissapeared!

I'm sure it'll be in print tomorrow.

It will be some big controversy. I just hope people on D-M.com are respectful- Parker played poorly but the team is really hurting after losing its best player (and truly a legendary player in the NBA). Coaches call players out a lot to try to spur them into getting into the game better. Parker needs to play better, but Im afraid the Spurs are really hurting now no matter what.

--- You were right when you called Parker an enigma, Dirno2k. An enigma wrapped in a ridle, surrounded by a conundrum I think.

Here's the actual quote:

"He needs to be more consistent," Popovich said. "You can't play like a hero one night and the next you don't exist. It happens too often. He needs to understand if he wants to be a leader, mentally he needs to be more prepared to play. It's very important for our team. We can't do anything close to what we did last year if he's that inconsistent."
