Mavs Announce 2004-05 Season Schedule

DALLAS-The Dallas Mavericks announced their 2004-05 regular season schedule today, which includes 26 nationally televised games tying the franchise high set last season.

The Mavericks open their 25th-anniversary season on Nov. 2 against the Sacramento Kings, the team that eliminated them from the 2004 Playoffs. The game will take place in the friendly confines of American Airlines Center, where Dallas owned an NBA-best home record of 36-5 in 2003-04.

In early November, Dallas will face off against Shaquille O’Neal and the new-look Miami Heat for a nationally televised game on TNT.

The World Champion Detroit Pistons come to Dallas on Dec. 6 as the first half of an imposing back-to-back that will send the Mavericks to Minnesota on Dec. 7. The Detroit game will be aired on NBA-TV.

In early January, Dallas will spend most of its time at home. The Mavericks will begin the new year by playing eight of the first 10 games at home, including a divisional game vs. Houston on Jan. 12 that will be televised on ESPN. January will also see Dallas take on the expansion Bobcats for the first time when it travels to Charlotte on Jan. 21.

Dallas will begin the month of February at home against the Heat on Feb 1, a game that will be televised on NBA-TV, but will then go on to play eight of their next nine games on the road. The Mavericks will return home to close out the month with three games at American Airlines Center. One of those games will feature the return of former Maverick Steve Nash as the Phoenix Suns make their only trip to Dallas on Feb. 26.

The Mavericks will take on a pair of division-rivals on nationally-televised Sunday games on ABC in March when they battle the Rockets in Houston on Mar. 6 and the Timberwolves at Minnesota on Mar. 13. ABC will also air Dallas’ Sunday game at the L.A. Lakers on Apr. 17.

With 26 games on national television, Dallas will appear nine times on NBA-TV, seven times on TNT, five times on ESPN, four times on ABC and once on ESPN2.

TNT will air the Mavericks’ matchups on Nov. 11 at Miami, Dec. 2 vs. Houston, Feb. 17 at Phoenix, Feb. 24 vs. Sacramento, Mar. 10 vs. L.A. Lakers, April 7 vs. San Antonio and April 14 at Portland. Dallas’ ESPN telecasts include Jan. 12 vs. Houston, Feb. 4 at Indiana, Feb. 11 at Sacramento, Mar. 4 at L.A. Lakers, and Mar. 23 at Golden State with the lone ESPN2 broadcast coming on Jan. 14 at San Antonio.

ABC will feature the Mavericks at Houston on Mar. 6, at Minnesota on Mar. 13, at Cleveland on Apr. 3 and at L.A. Lakers on Apr. 17. Nine Dallas games will also be aired on NBA-TV, including Nov. 22 vs. Minnesota, Nov. 30 vs. San Antonio, Dec. 6 vs. Detroit, Jan. 8 vs. Indiana, Jan. 26 at Portland, Feb. 1 vs. Miami, Mar. 11 at Milwaukee, Mar. 15 vs. Minnesota and Mar. 26 vs. Cleveland.

I count 12 Back-to-backs. I think last year we had 14. And funny how (and I think this is accurate) we
always played minnie the second game of those back to backs.

How many appearances did we have last season? I think 26 is pretty good considering we lost Nash.

I think I was the only one in the metroplex who actually like the alt unis from last season. I thought the shiny look was pretty cool and the dark gray was sweet. Never understood why other teams with the shiny thing going on ( Nuggets, Clips, Nets, Miami, Toronto) never caught any grief. The Nuggs' baby-blues look like friggin' pajamas.

Sounds like counting thread.

Anyway since webber wants to be selfish, we can count the first game as a win.

I hope we can start this year well. Last year was dissapointing and we started with a pathetic effort against the Lakers. I won't even mention those horrific uniforms. The only thing good that came out of that game was the nickname, "baked potato". Oh, and Walker shot 5-6 from three point land while Dirk was 0-6 from there.

And Daniels' first regular season point.

Yes!
Monday, Nov. 15 - Cowboys vs Eagles
Tuesday, Nov. 16 - Mavericks vs Suns

I dont care what it takes, I WILL be in Dallas for those two days.

I've been wanting to go to both a Cowboys and Mav game for a LONG time. Is there a better time? I dont think so.
