This is from Realgm.com... it is about Donnie and his feelings on the Lithuainian victory.

"It was like watching your two sons compete against each other," Donn Nelson of the Mavericks said yesterday. "It was a double-edge sword. I never like to see the USA lose at anything."

But Nelson has connections to this Lithuania team.

Jasikevicius led his country to its biggest basketball triumph when the point guard scored 28 points.

"I had mixed feelings," said Nelson. "On one side, I'm proud that a country of 3.5 million people can pull off that kind of incredible upset. On the other hand, I'm upset with what happened."

Nelson does not believe that the U.S. men's coaches or players deserve blame.

"Here are the people who don't deserve the blame on this thing: Larry (Brown), his coaching staff and players," Nelson said. "In some respects, this could be the best thing that can happen to us. It allows you to come to grips with who you are."

Donnie obviously has much more class than Larry Brown

So the question is: Who is to blame?

Pretty classy of Donnie to take that kind of criticism from Larry Brown and still have good things to say about him.

Being a future GM... he really cant say anything bad about anyone. He cant afford to make enemies that would ruin future trades or things of that nature.

But I still believe that Donnie is a much classier guy the Larry Brown

I think Carlos Boozer and Steve Nash are classier people than Larry Brown.

Lol.

I'd say, Gary Payton on his worst day is more classy than LB on his best. In fact, Larry Brown having class gotta' be an Oxymoron!!

You can blame Tmac, Kobe, Shaq, KG, Allen, Ben Wallace, Rip hamilton for not showing up. Selection committee has something to do with it but they cannot help if best talent does not want to play for their own country.

I'm not aware that the selection committee was refused by Michael Redd, Brent Barry, Michael Finley or the like. Substitute those guys in for the likes of Marbury, Melo, Lebron, etc., and the team's chances of winning gold go up considerably.
