September 16, 2004

ATLANTA (AP) -- Former Georgia Tech stars Kenny Anderson and Jon Barry have signed with the Atlanta Hawks.

General manager Billy Knight did not disclose terms of the contracts Thursday.

Anderson, a 13-year veteran with seven NBA teams and a starter in the 1994 All-Star game, has career averages of 13 points, 6.2 assists and 3.1 rebounds. But the 35-year-old had career lows with 6.0 points and 2.8 assists in 44 games with the Indiana Pacers last season.

Barry, 33, played last season with the Denver Nuggets and averaged 6.2 points, 2.6 assists and 1.0 steals in 57 games. The 12-year veteran, who has averaged 5.7 points and 2.2 assists in his career, played for the Hawks during the 1996-97 season.

Anderson and Barry will be teammates for the first time since the 1991-92 season with the Yellow Jackets.

Jon Barry would have been great for a young team like the Mavs....

I agree, but their just isn't room for him with your team having a vet all-star like core, with potential all-star type young 'uns for backups.
