HOUSTON (Ticker) - Houston Rockets guard Bob Sura had surgery Tuesday to repair a herniated disk in his lower back and will be out at least two months, the team announced. Sura suffered the injury during an offseason workout September 1. The successful corrective procedure was performed by Dr. Robert Watkins of the Los Angeles Spine Surgery Institute. Sura's rehabilitation is expected to last at least eight weeks. The Rockets begin training camp October 5. The 2004-05 NBA season begins November 2. The Rockets signed Sura as a free agent August 9. Entering his 10th season, he is expected to play at both backcourt positions. Sura, 31, spent last season with Detroit and Atlanta. The 6-4 combo guard started 18 of 27 games for Atlanta, averaging 14.7 points, 5.3 assists and 8.3 rebounds.

That is music to my ears. Sura is a guy who is really gunna help the rockets, and if his absense allows the mavs to jump out to an early lead... this is good news.
