Coach Don Nelson called Vernon Maxwell over to the sideline at practice Friday.
Maxwell, after 12 years in the NBA, knew what was coming.
“Vernon, it’s time you start playing well,’ that’s what he told me,’’ Maxwell tells DallasBasketball.com. “I knew he’d eventually say something. He’s right. It’s time to step to the plate.’’

mad max is the type of player that is either hot or cold when he's cold he's freezing but when he's hot NO ONE can stop him

Mad Max hasn't been hot yet this year. He's got to earn his playing time or we may not see him get off the bench very much more.

Max cant hit a shot to save his life. I wish he would get hot.

The DMN says Maxwell's halftime speech was a big reason for the Mavs win last night. See, he can help this team. Even if he can't make a shot.
Since coming to Dallas, Maxwell is 5-26 from 3 i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif .

If we draw the Jazz in the playoffs, we should send max in to break Stocktons kneecaps.
03-28-2001, 01:12 PM
the way mad max is shooting right now, i'm not sure he could hit stockton's kneecaps
03-28-2001, 01:19 PM
just hand him a glock so he can pull a Last Boy Scout on Stockton and Malone.
03-28-2001, 01:20 PM
he DOES play defense, a welcome site.
03-28-2001, 01:21 PM
yes, he does do that.
as poorly as he's shooting, i'd just assume he disappear on the offensive side. no more shooting for maxwell
