Bad deal for Phoenix me thinks.

I think it is probably a pretty good deal. He fits their system to a T. He is a very scrappy player and a great shooter. With Amare back teams are going to have to double down low. If they do that then someone's going to be open. Piatkowski can hit that open shot quite frequently.

It's not a bad signing. You knew they weren't going to get a defensive player and he certainly can hit the 3. He'll get plenty of open looks to do so.

I think I would have tried to get my backup point settled first though. They must be confident enough that Barbosa can do the job if all else fails.

That's my thought on the deal too.

Me thinks Nash is going to make Piatowski a two-year wonder.

A two year contract at the mininum?

This is a GREAT move by the Suns. I wouldn't have minded the Polish Rifle on the Mavs at all.

Piatkowski, also 35, had career lows for games played (20), minutes per game (7.9) and three-point shooting percentage (.273) last season in Chicago. He missed 20 games with inflammation in his foot.

He is old - 35 and two more years? Plus he had a really bad season and was hurt too. Can he run with Phoenix? I highly doubt it - at least he will not hit the 3 at 40% if he has to run, prob. 30% and that won't be enough.

I don't think this is a good acquisition for Phoenix, but Nash has made players like Tim Thomas look tons better than they really are, so no reason he couldn't do that with Piatkowski.
