SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- The Sacramento Kings (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/teams/sac/) signed center Loren Woods (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3555/) on Tuesday.
Woods, a five-year veteran, spent the last two seasons with the Toronto Raptors (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/teams/tor/). He also has played for the Miami Heat (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/teams/mia/) and Minnesota Timberwolves (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/teams/min/), who drafted him in 2001. He averaged 2.3 points and 4.1 rebounds last season. Woods could be a backup for Brad Miller (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3305/) alongside Vitali Potapenko in Sacramento.

I remember when the Mavs passed over him in the draft and drafted Kyle Hill. There was much chaos.

Woods is a solid signing for cheap. Compare his numbers with Diop's and its not a huge difference. He only played like 12 mpg so def a solid back-up to Brad Miller. Nobody jumped for joy when we signed Diop (who sucked coming from Cleveland) so I dunno, could be a decent signing. Wouldn't call CNN but Woods is a good 12-15 mpg guy who is 7'2 and won't cost much.
