im also a big fan of the celtics, just because they have so much history and i liked bird a lot

If your going other sports it's the Tampa Bay Bucs(yeah we suck right now), In basketball though, I root for the wizards most the time. Probably cause i get to see them all the time but i like the way they play. They seem to be gutty this year. But nothing compares in any sport to my love for my Mavs!

The Longhorns, Cowboys, anybody that plays the Phoenix Suns, Washington Redskins, and Oklahoma Sooners.
In the NBA. Don't really know. Just root for teams that I wouldn't mind seeing win if the Mavs weren't there.

Horns. All sports.

In the NBA, I actually was a pretty damn big Heat fan until the Finals last year. I've tempered off a bit since then, for obvious reasons. I don't really like anyone other than the Mavs anymore.

if you go college I'm proud to be a WaHoo and all my love goes to UVA though that is outweighed by the MAVS.

For basketball my second favorite team is the Warriors, in baseball I like the Giants and in football I like the 49ers and Panthers.

Yes, baseball is really a sport. Now, we could ask the question "does your opinion really count?" That's probably a better question to ask.

As for my second favorite basketball team.. none of the above.

Baseball - rangers
football - cowboys
college - 'horns, UNT
tennis - Hingis, Sharapova
Golf - Bob Estes

Oh murphy always got to try to take a cheap shot. At least we agree on Tennis

Hey, you took a cheap shot at the greatest sport in the world... baseball. So, a shot at you was well deserved.

haha its all good. I guess i'll never understand baseball. I can sorta get into college baseball but not pro. I like that it is a mind game but seems like they get too long to think.

With you. Baseball is incredibly boring to me, unless it's the Longhorns in the CWS.

Baseball is a game based heavily upon strategy ..out-smarting your opponent..... Which could be why some of you don't like it.

Mavs > Cowboys > any football team with a great defense > rangers

Warriors, Suns, a tiny bit of Spurs, Saints, and that's it. The rest of 'em can rot in hell.

The only pro basketball team I love is the Mavs. Those that are fans of multiple teams are really fans of players rather than teams.

Pacers, Broncos, Colts, Dolphins, and while I hate their fans, I honestly do like the Rockets.

Oh yes, and of course the Cowboys.

MLB- Rangers...Stros a bit as well.
NHL- Stars

I can't agree with that. I am not a big Melo fan (or any of their guys right now per se) anymore but I have enjoyed the Nuggets since waaaaay back in the Thompson and English years.

Oh well. You've been wrong before. ;)

I know you like the Nuglets, so I don't expect you to agree with me.

Not if they play the Mavs. It is MAvericks and then Nugs. But I do enjoy watching them play and have for many years.

If they aren't playing the Mavs, do you always root for the Nuggets?

EDIT: If so, then you have a conflict of interest. Sometimes it may be better for the Mavs that the Nuggets lose.

If I watch teams other than the Mavs play, I am always rooting for the result that is most beneficial to the Mavs.

Drbio

The question wasn't if I or you thought there might be a conflict it was what team do you love most excluding the Mavericks. Your view on this one is extremely myopic.

Same here. But since the Warriors are never a threat, I always root for them if they aren't playing the Mavs. I used to root for the Suns except when they played the Mavs, but I can't anymore because it's better for the Mavs if they lose.

kg_veteran

Maybe so, but it's my view.

At least we agree that there is a conflict there.

The only pro basketball team I love is the Mavs. Those that are fans of multiple teams are really fans of players rather than teams. If Dirk is traded for KG tomorrow, I'll be interested in seeing whether you can keep yourself from rooting for Minnesota.

I already know the answer to that. And so do you.

TADA!

Right now, I'd root for the Heat, the Rockets, or even the Spurs over the Suns. I wouldn't watch the game, but that's the result I would prefer.

I liked the Magic til we killed them. Thought they'd be better than that. the Knicks if they fired everyone and got new everything.

There is no other basketball team outside of the Mavs that I actively root for.

Any any given game, I will usually have a preference - but that's based on disliking certain teams, disliking certain players, and wishing nothing but absolute failure on division opponents.

Sometimes it is good to see other players that I like doing well - especially if they are ex-Mavs...but I don't neccessarily care how their teams do. For example, I'm glad that Darrell Armstrong is doing well, but I dont' really give a flip about the Pacers.

Other than that, I hope that the Mavs get a favorable seeding (as in #1), so I'll naturally have an interest in the rest of the Western Conference.

Blazers for sure, but I'm from Portland. I actually like their team this year. (not nearly as much as the Mavericks of course).
