Lakers And Pistons Agreed To Kobe Trade
November 15, 2007 - 1:06 pm

1270 Detroit (http://pistons.realgm.com/) - According to radio station 1270 AM in Detroit (http://pistons.realgm.com/), the Lakers (http://lakers.realgm.com/) and Pistons (http://pistons.realgm.com/) came to an agreement to trade Bryant to the Pistons.

However, Bryant used his no-trade clause to veto the trade.

The report claims the deal was completed late Tuesday night.

Detroit would have sent Tayshaun Prince (http://www.realgm.com/src_playerfile/750/tayshaun_prince/), Rip Hamilton, Amir Johnson (http://www.realgm.com/src_playerfile/1134/amir_johnson/) and a first round pick to the Lakers.

Haha, that's it, that's why Kobe vetoed it. No doubt about it.

If this was legit, I don't see why Kobe wouldn't want to go to Detroit.

Billups/ Stuckey/ Hunter
Kobe / Afflalo / Murray
Amir Johnson / Ronald Dupree
Wallace / Maxiell
McDyess/ Mohammed

Except for the weak 3 spot, that starting lineup looks pretty stout. They also appear to have decent depth with that roster. He would definitely be in a better situation than what he is now, and in my opinion, a better situation than what he would be in if he went to chicago.

Right. Sorry about that. I didn't hear much about it during the Detroit/Lakers game the night this rumored trade came to surface.

Good trade for both teams. I think Kobe wants to go to a bigger basketball market than Detroit. I'm sure he'd love to go to the Knick's if their players didn't have such salary cap hell they'd probably be able to come up with a decent package.

You could package any four Knicks, and they wouldn't be close to approximating Kobe's value. Hell, they aren't doing it for the NYKs, how could they just uproot and transplant across country and start doing it?

Eddie Curry, Zach Randolph, Jamal Crawford and David Lee for Kobe wouldn't help the Lakers out? A team that already has a developing Bynum and Lamar Odom? Phil Jackson as coach? They'd be a problem. That's too much to give up for Kobe but just doing what you said and packaging 4 Knick's. The Knick's have talent. Don't let their record fool you. They are just a mess right now. There's nothing that can help them. All they can do is just implode the team because it will never work just because they're the Knick's. A team with Eddie Curry, Zach Randolph, Marbury, Crawford, Q-Rich, Nate Robinson and David Lee should make the playoffs in the East. Its bigger than the players at this point.

Talented HEADCASES is the problem. They are an incredibly horrid mess, I'd like to see a summary of how they got to where they are now. I'm sure something like that is out there on the net, time to google.
