I wasn't a Mavs fan until Finley came on board, so I guess the players are limited to me....but
Finley (how'd you guess?)

I somehow forgot about Buckner...He's probably my second favorite of all-time, behind Finley.
Oh man there are just waaay too many! I wasn't a fan until the 92-93 season, so that's why guys like Ro and Aguirre aren't on my list.

Damn, there are too many good ex-Mavs!!! I forgot about Ceballos too!!!i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif

I didnt really become a real fan until the early 90's either... but my favorite players who wore or wear a Mavs Jersey are:
Aguirre (imagine that)
And I want to wait until after this season to put Nash on my list. After all, its the first BIG year he's had, but I love his grit.

Well, I guess my age is gonna show, but I've been following the Mavs since the first season(1980, if I'm not mistaken.)The following have my votes:
Roy Tarpley(yeah, I know he was a coker, but, man was he good!)
The entire current batch, but,especially:
and, last, but certainly not least, my all-time favorite:
DIRK NOWITZKI!!!!!!!!DIRK NOWITZKI!!!!!!!!
I've had mixed feelings about the 3 J's ever since the Toni Braxton incident i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif My fave of the trio was probably Monster Mash though.
Oh and welcome to the board jakalope! I think your author icon gives away your age more then anything i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif j/k!

The hippy's favorite Mav of all time is Lever. Love me some Fat Lever. Good call on Izzy. Don't hear his name too often. Derek Harper was a hoss also.

Roy Tarpley and David Wood anchor my list of unappreciated Mavs... Does anyone else remember Wood and Charles Barkley getting into it in that Christmas day nationally televised Mavs/Suns game a couple of years ago? I used to think that Wood could teach Loren Meyer and Cherokee some of his dirty tricks in practice. I also used to think Cherokee could become a little like Bill Lambier... That shows you how much I know...

I remember David Wood would always piss people off. Usualy the other teams best player too get them off there game i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif .

He has been ripping things up with the athletes in action squad over the last couple of years... I was sitting courtside at Assembly Hall in Bloomington, and got to see him two years ago when IU played AIA in the pre-season... Incidentally, my intramural team at IU is named Alchoholics in Action... That name has historically stricken fear into our opponents...

PG- Jason Kidd
SG - Mike Finley
SF - Rolando Blackman
PF - Dirk Nowitzki
C - Shawn Bradley
03-11-2001, 09:10 PM
Chris Anstey - Eduardo Najera border line nba
03-12-2001, 01:13 AM
Anstey is playing in Australia right now, but what happened to him in Dallas and Chicago? Was he weak or was he a whinger or what? There's gotta be something wrong with a 7 footer who can shot if they aren't in the NBA!
05-15-2001, 07:02 PM
Madeape's was probably the most consistent with my all-time maverick team. However as much as I LOVE Finley, I'd have to go with Rolando Blackman. I was in love with ever since he hit those two free throws in the all-star game to send it into overtime. I think that was in 87.
05-15-2001, 08:01 PM
Monster Mash. The man is really coming in to his own now. Id take him even up for Mr.Finley right now
05-16-2001, 12:26 AM
what i really wanna know is, what happened to JACKALOPE!!?? His posting average is down to .01, he really needs to pick it up!! i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif

05-16-2001, 10:26 AM
Reeds you need to cool it, you sound like someone who likes the Bucks!!!!
05-16-2001, 10:38 AM
haha, i can tell reeds is going to be a riot.
he may make a bigger splash than what lam0015 seemed to do, judging by the hatred associated with his name
05-16-2001, 10:47 AM
Actually Reeds is a friend of mine that lives in Wisconsin I told about this sight. I know he was going to look at the board but I didn't know he would actually posts here. A lot of the debates we have on this board, I have with him in person, so I guess he thought he would jump in.
05-16-2001, 10:53 AM
reeds, are you a mavs fan?
Tarpley when he was clean (maybe 15 minutes in his career)
05-16-2001, 01:11 PM
Dirk, Finley, Aguirre, Blackman, Nash, Brad Davis, Donaldson and Kurt Nimphius (remember him?).
Busts: Randy White, Garnett, Curcic, Joao Vianna, Alford, Jim Farmer
Potential Favorite Mavs of the Future: Wang, Harvey and Najera. I hope Nellie really gives Harvey a chance, even if he can't shoot it from 10 ft. out. Everytime I have seen him in garbage time, he has gotten into the opposing player's head. He also doesn't finesse things...he simply slams the put backs down!!! I wish I could have seen him against Malone for just a few minutes!!!
Thanks Maringa i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif I had forgotten Big James Donaldson.
05-16-2001, 02:00 PM
i was always a doug smith and mike Izz fan
05-16-2001, 02:06 PM
God I forgot about this thread... it was back on March 1 that I posted this one... I just like Izzy because I used to play with him in the arcades...
05-16-2001, 02:16 PM
i just liked izzy because his last name is the same as my girlfriend's last name before her family came to america
05-16-2001, 06:31 PM

05-16-2001, 08:01 PM
