Kobe fell into his right knee. Cant find anything on what he did to it. Anybody know what kind of injury he might have?

X-rays are negative. MRI tomorrow.

Andrew Bynum left Saturday's game after spraining his right knee during the first quarter. X-rays were negative but he left the arena in a wheelchair and is expected to have an MRI on Sunday.
The need for a wheelchair makes it sound like Bynum could miss significant time, but his owners can take solace in the initial diagnosis of a sprain, considering what could have been. Another positive angle is that it's not the same knee that needed surgery last season. Check back soon for an update. Jan. 31 - 9:25 pm et

PS: T-Whack sat out of tonight's game because of an "injured" ankle.

I didn't think it looked that bad but he was in obvious pain. Won't know more until the MRI.

I wish this hadn't happened. The last thing in the world I want to see is the Spurs in another NBA Finals. I'd rather the Lakers win the next 10 titles in a row than the Spurs win even one more.

I think the Lakers beat the Spurs even without Bynam so I wouldn't worry about that.

Lakers may still be the best team in the West even without Bynum... they did make the Finals last year after all.

It's still "basically" last years team + Ariza, losing Turiaf hurt some of their frontcourt depth though.

IN A VERY CRUEL IRONY OF THE WORLD, IF DAVID STERN HAD SUSPENDED HIM FOR THE ELBOW TO GERALD WALLACE'S LUNG, HE WOULDNT HAVE INJURED HIS KNEE

We could all do without the caps, but this is actually true and sort of funny. Good call.

Yeah but look at the bright side, the Mavericks still have a chance to move into the top 3 in the West. Hornets, Rockets, Jazz...none of these teams have proven they are better than us this season. There is hope yet that the Mavs can make a nice playoff push/run if they just play with more consistency.

Bynam is out 8-12 weeks with a torn MCL.

It seems like his knees take him out for a chunk of the season, they can't have him stay healthy to save their life. Let's say it's 8 weeks, you're looking at what maybe ten games left in the season? Are they really going to let him work out the kinks in that late going into round 1?
