It may not be a big move but it is a move. Here's the linkSpurs sign Willis (http://espn.go.com/nba/news/2002/0826/1423031.html)

This gives the Spurs a quality big man back up for Robinson....It also does not hurt their contract situation for next year when I believe they try to go after Kidd and keep Duncan....

Willis is better than the multiple spares he is replacing from last year and they can now carry less total players saving more money...

Good move by Spurs who are still in the title mix no matter how much we all discuss Sac and Lakers....

Willis is ONLY 40 years old. It may be a good move for the Spurs or it may be their Hot Rod Williams move.

Sure belittle the signings of other team just because the Mavs aren't making moves.

I think people would be all over the Mavs if they signed a 40 year old and expected any minutes out of him. I'd rather sign someone to help, long term, rather than HOPING to get something out of the ancient for one year. I have higher expectations, I guess is what I'm saying. I believe you said "any signing is a good signing" or something to that effect, on another thread, so we know where YOU are coming from.

No, if you are going to quote someone, please do it right. I said that, signing a player can only help the team.

Yeah, that's what you said. As if signing "a" player can only help a team. I took it to mean, "any" player.

No that doesn't mean "any" player, and I have said this over and over.

I agree w/ David, Willis is old and injury prone.
