Was anyone else shocked that Pedrag Savovic scored 2 points on 1-2 shooting for the Nuggets in their game against the Lakers yesterday?

Nevermind, b/c Uberdirk neverminded himself.
10-14-2002, 04:35 PM
I don't get it????
10-14-2002, 04:36 PM
Trust me. Some people will read the first post in this thread and laugh their ass off.
10-14-2002, 04:45 PM
gotta go find my ass... i laughed it right off i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif
uberdirk, musta been before your time.. for somebody who posted a thousand times on his first day, i figured you would've been lurking long enough to get the Savovic joke. i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif
oh well, you missed a good one.
10-14-2002, 05:02 PM
I laughed so hard my ass fell off. I was just getting out of my car and it fell into the storm drain.
Seriously though...freaking hilarious.
10-14-2002, 05:07 PM
ok... anyone care to explain this to some of us who haven't been here forever?
Is this a Juwan "I have the ugliest shot in the world" Howard thing??

I´m SHOCKED!!! >>
post of the year. by far. i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif
10-14-2002, 05:22 PM
that's pretty good stuff right there.
MavsManiac- Not to ignore you by any means, but you pretty much had to suffer through it to find it funny. I'm not sure someone trying to explain it would be able to present it in a meaningful way.
Base Line Guy

I admit I am a little lost as well.
10-14-2002, 05:30 PM
works for me, Doc... unless you can point out an old thread or 2 I can read when I'm bored i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif
10-14-2002, 05:31 PM
It actually encompassed about ten threads I think. Many had Savovic in the title if you want to search for it...some of the thread titles were shamelessly changed by the "shocked one" so it really would be a fruitless venture I'm afraid.

For those that really want an explanation:
Most shocking of all!!! (http://www.dallas-mavs.com/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=2&threadid=4615)
"Still shocking after all these years." (http://www.dallas-mavs.com/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=3&threadid=4801)

Ahhhh...Dirk77. The only person I ever called out on this forum before.
Savovic is a spare guard from Hawaii that went undrafted. Dirk77 was so "shocked", he started two threads in ten minutes on the topic. Then we started being sarcastic. Really, the first page of the third thread is some of the funniest stuff ever posted on this forum and all the best posters are there. Then Dirk77 got defensive and hostile and started editing threads and lying to cover his tracks.
Really, you had to be there, but rereading the threads will do it some justice. I love the poll I created. I particularly like the post were I called Dirk77 out for being a lying F'ing bastard.

In spanish is "to collide", or "to bother".
"Me chocas" is "you bother me".
"Chocaste" is "you crash your car" or "you were an ass" + "hole".
10-14-2002, 06:50 PM
do you think Savovic will make their 12 man roster?
10-14-2002, 07:08 PM
Über, I would be shocked if he doesn´t make it!!
No seriously, if you look at the guys the Nuggets have under contract right now, Savovic has as good a chance as nearly anyone else to make the roster.
10-14-2002, 07:08 PM
I'd be shocked if he did. i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif
10-14-2002, 08:04 PM
I looked at the roster again and here are the options for the backcourt and sf: Ryan Bowen, Lorinza Harrington, Darrick Martin, George McLoud, James Posey, Kenny Satterfield, Bryant Notree (rookie), Predrag Savovic (rookie), Rodney White (which position does he play?), and Nikoloz Tskitishvili (rookie).
Now if you take away Bowen then the guy with the best shooting percentage last year was James Posey. He shot a whopping .376 from the field. Pretty unbelievable isn´t it? All of the other guys on that list who saw some pt in the NBA last year shot WORSE. This is all Denver has for the 1-3 positions, so if Savovic can´t make it out of this group he can´t make it anywhere in the NBA.
10-14-2002, 09:22 PM
Rodney White is about a 6-8 SF, I believe.
10-15-2002, 05:13 PM
Hey Dooby... Thanks for the mini replay & thread refs... I'm always on the lookout for a good laugh i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif

whoa, rodney white is with the nuggets? i guess the pistons didn't like what they were seeing out of their lottery pick.
10-16-2002, 03:00 AM
Wonder what happened to our old mate D77.
10-16-2002, 10:01 AM
I think he moved from the East Coast to Dallas, married RCF, then flew back to Oslo to live happily ever after.
10-17-2002, 09:35 AM
For the record, Savovic had 11 points in 12 minutes last night on 2-5 shooting and going 7-7 from the line.
We all knew he was capable of putting up this kind of performance, it is hardly SHOCKING.
10-17-2002, 06:39 PM
I was even more shocked when the Mavs lost to the Bucks..
10-18-2002, 03:27 PM
I just went back & read some of the threads on Savovic, I am absolutely shocked that they're not in some sort of Dallas-Mavs.com Thread Hall of Fame or something...
Hilarious stuff, especially if you do a search of the word "shock" which makes all those shocking comments really stand out...
thanks for the laughs! i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif
10-18-2002, 03:48 PM
Glad to hear you enjoyed them....it was much funnier in real time though....knee slapping funny....
10-18-2002, 04:29 PM
mavsmaniac - that's a great idea. we should have a hall of fame for best threads.
maybe first thread ever on d-m.com, longest thread, funny threads, first and last post of certain trolls.
10-18-2002, 08:04 PM
well, this savovic kid seems to be able to score, lol.
10-23-2002, 03:49 PM
Savovic's line from Monday: 13 Minutes; 2 pts; 0-8 from the field; 0-4 on 3-pt attempts; 0 rebounds; 0 assists.
10-23-2002, 04:55 PM
so are you shocked or amazed, because amazed goes in a totally different thread.i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif
10-24-2002, 05:12 PM
Wednesday, Savovic broke out. He scored from the field. Twice, in fact. 13 minutes; 5 points on 2-5 shooting; 0-1 from three; 2 rebounds.
10-24-2002, 08:04 PM
Just when I thought I couldn't laugh anymore...Fidel gets shocked!
oh i needed that!
10-25-2002, 08:50 AM
I don't know why but Savovic did not play last night.
10-31-2002, 10:04 AM
It appears, although I can't confirm it, that Savovic was cut by Denver. Good luck to him, wherever he ends up.
Edit: My mistake, he was placed on the injured list.
10-31-2002, 08:52 PM
He is on the IL.
08-05-2003, 09:59 AM
The Nuggets waived shooting guard Predrag Savovic on Monday. As a rookie last season, Savovic averaged 3.1 points in 27 games and shot just 31.2 percent from the field, including 15.4 percent from 3-point range. If Savovic can't land with another NBA team, his agent, Marc Cornstein, says the Yugoslavian likely will play in Europe.
"He really loved it in Denver and he wanted to continue his journey there," Cornstein said.
