I'm concerned about the possibility that the recent change in All-Star voting could mean that Ming would be elected as a starter over Shaq. Apparently the Chinese people are now allowed to vote over the internet for their favorite players. Wang could even be voted in as a write-in candidate.

I understand if Ming makes starter but if Bateer and Wang make it something has got to be changed about this voting thing. Even Ming making starter as of right now is a bit over board but with the centers in the West or the league for that matter I wouldn't be suprised or upset if he made starter.

I remember when Grant Hill was voted in as a somewhat suspect starter during his rookie year, and if I remember correctly Iverson might have been voted as the starter at Eastern PG with some pretty impressive stats... I know there was a little controversy about the voting system in Hills' case...

Yao should be happy that Shaq was injured. If Shaq had been healthy and playing at his regular pace this year it would be criminal for the Red Chinese to be able to vote in Yao as a starter. However, if he makes it now, Shaq's early injury wouyld give that selection a sliver more credibility. Consequently allowing his selection as starter to slide by nonplussed by anything worse than some amusing comments from the pundits...

And then there was when Grant Hill and Alonzo Morning didn't play a game before the all-star break and both were voted in as starters.

Wasn't Alonzo Mourning voted as a starter a couple of years ago even though he never played a game.
