Hate to take joy in others' injuries, but... well...

Duncan questionable after ankle sprain

SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- Spurs center Tim Duncan is questionable for Tuesday's game against the New York Knicks after spraining his right ankle, a team spokesman said Monday.

Duncan was limping and had to be helped off the court when he sprained his ankle during Sunday's 108-97 win over Chicago.

X-rays taken at the arena were negative on the 7-foot, 260 pound Duncan, as was an MRI test Monday morning, team spokesman Cliff Puchalski said.

Duncan was driving for a layup with 3:17 left when Donyell Marshall fouled him across the arms and stepped on his right foot. Duncan fell to the floor and grabbed his foot in pain. Duncan didn't return, finishing the game with 22 points and 12 rebounds.

San Antonio (47-18) will try to extend their six-game winning streak Tuesday night against the Knicks. They face the league-leading Dallas Mavericks on Thursday.

The Spurs, who have won 19 of 22, are 2 1/2 games behind the Mavericks in the Midwest Division.

that's fine that he plays against us..
but if he misses tonight, it gives the Mavs a decent chance of picking up an extra game.

the Knicks haven't played poorly as of late

Exactly. The Knicks don't look so bad lately-- I mean, for the Eastern Conference. With Duncan and Robinson both out, do the Knicks stand a chance? Let's hope so.

Well, Duncan's starting, so I doubt he's too hurt. Go Knicks!
