We have a couple threads on trivia going but dj knows absolutely NO baseball so I don't think it's fair to have the trivia directed at him i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif, but if it is for me personally post it on calling out Flying Tiger. I'll get it started, Murph will probably know this one...who is the only major league pitcher to strike out 4 batters in one inning more than once?

07-14-2001, 09:03 PM
Don't know the answer but a small tidbit, I struck out 4 batters in one inning in a little league game once. i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif

07-14-2001, 09:03 PM
Bah let's have some trivia on computer/high-tech gear, dj/music stuff, bodybuilding or web/graphic design! Hell or bring up that Mavs trivia thread again i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif

Uh...the answer was Chuck Finley

07-24-2001, 06:42 PM
Ok- do u know who chuck finley is married to? WOW...she is sexy too, or at least she was back in the mtv days...

Big Boy Laroux
07-24-2001, 06:54 PM
isn't he married to tawny kitean? or however you spell it. from the cherry pie video i think.

07-24-2001, 07:36 PM
Bobbie Brown was the chick in the Cherry Pie vid. Tawny was in those WhiteSnake vids (she was/is married to one of the band members).

07-24-2001, 07:54 PM
YES- he is married to Tawny! From the Whitesnake videos...WOW, she is hot...

07-27-2001, 08:53 AM
reeds, do you really think Tawny Kitaen is hot ? I never thought he was hot ...
yeah, she was once married David Coverdale who was once the lead vocalist of Deep Purple.
Deep Purple is my most favorite band ...
Hey, djbacklash, what kinda music are you in ?
Do you know "Fatboy Slim" ? How about "Chemical Brothers" ? I like their music ...
Fatboy Slim is also a DJ, I think he's great ...

07-27-2001, 11:15 AM
Yea I listen to Chemical Bros. and Fatboy Slim i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif The Chemical Bros. used to be my fave group next to The Prodigy and Crystal Method (speaking of which, I need to get their new cd!). I listen mainly to rap and hiphop these days, but I still love dance/techno/trance beats.

07-28-2001, 05:20 AM
Crystal Method ? I don't know their name ... I like Prodigy, too.
How about old ones such as Kraftwerk("Tour De France" i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif), Yazoo, OMD(my fav),
New Order, Depeche Mode ?
I love techno/dance music, especially eurodance, I don't care wherever they're coming from,
Germany, France, Italy, Holland. I just love Eurodance ...
It's exciting and fun, but Mono (French Duo) is unique, their music is kinda sad and misty ...
I saw several music vids of Daft Punk on MCM (French music channel), their music is good.
I don't mind Disco, either. yeah Disco baby !!! Hit me with Disco !!!
I do listen to Rap, but I don't think HipHop is my kinda music, I don't mind if it's good tho.

And I love lots of oldies like Gene Pitney("Tower Tall"), Vogues(every song of them), Walker Bro.,
Ketty Lester("Love Letters"), Vera Lynn("We'll Meet Again") ... there's too many ...
I think I'm in '80s' music also ... 70s' is good, 60s' ... , yeah I love music.

However, my main stuff is Rock, all kinds of Rock, especially Heavy Metal,
it doesn't matter if it's pop metal or baroque metal or death metal.
I dont wanna live without Heavy METAL .....

Man...I thought my trivia thread finaly took off, but it's just more nonsence.

07-31-2001, 08:07 AM
Thax for the compliment, I think I did a pretty good job on your thread ... i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif
anyway LONG time NO see ...

Flying Tiger
07-31-2001, 10:50 AM
Just teasin' ya...but it's good to be missed.

08-02-2001, 10:12 AM
but how come a hurler could strike out 4 batters in just one inning ?
you can only strike 3 batters out in one inning, am I wrong ? it's rather confusing ...

Flying Tiger
08-02-2001, 09:34 PM
OK...I'll try to explain this. If the pitcher srtikes someone out, but the catcher drops the ball, the batter can run to first and if he isn't tagged out or thrown out at first then he is safe and the out doesn't count, but the pitcher still gets credited with the strikeout. Understand?

08-03-2001, 05:34 AM
DJ if you like The Crystal Method, You'd probably like Paul Oakenfold too. Heard of him?
Thats funny that you like Prodigy and The Crystal Method too, They are two of my very favorites. I have to get thier new CD "Tweekend".

08-03-2001, 07:37 AM
I see, thanks ... so you can get as many K's as possible ...

08-03-2001, 12:58 PM
Crystal Method and The Prodigy are my two all-time fave groups i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif I also like Oakenfold, Van Dyk, BT, etc. I mainly listen to hiphop now though, so I only know the more popular dance songs/remixes being played in clubs now. What else do you listen to? I've been downloading a few of the songs my friends have been recommending (like I said, I've been out of the electronic scene for a couple years now i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif) like Kim Sozzi, Fragma, Robbie Tronco, Darude (yea I know it's old..but the radio stations in Dallas have totally been hyping "Sandstorm), ATB, etc.

Oh and yea I HAVE to get the new Crystal Method cd! I hope they come to Dallas again soon.

08-04-2001, 01:01 AM
Well I like all kinds of music really, U2 is my all-time favorite, but as it relates to what I've been listening to lately: Prodigy, The Crystal Method, Fatboy Slim, Propeller Heads, Timo Maas, DJ Tiesto, and Paul Oakenfold. I've known about Oakenfold since he was with U2 during thier Zoo TV tour.

08-04-2001, 01:15 AM
I've just recently started listening to stuff by Timo Maas and Tiesto..was into the Propellarheads a couple years ago but haven't really kept track of them. What was their last release? I think I have their first cd..the one released back in '98. Oh and Oakenfold is just plain awesome i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif

08-04-2001, 01:15 AM
Oh yea one other thing, Oakenfold will be at Mekka (electronic music fetival) on Aug 15th at fair park. WWW.mekkatour.com chk it out

08-04-2001, 01:16 AM
Mekka was cancelled..the entire summer tour i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif

08-04-2001, 01:22 AM
Decksanddrumsandrockandroll was thier last release back in 98 as far as I know (the one with Spybreak! used in the matrix). Just like Vegas released in 97, some music never gets old. i/expressions/face-icon-small-cool.gif

08-04-2001, 01:24 AM
ACK! When the hell did this happen? Is it on the website? I admit I have'nt checked it in a while.... i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif

08-04-2001, 01:28 AM
Yea check the bbs on the official site. They released an official statement the other day. A friend of mine knows the guy throwing the Dallas show so I found out it was cancelled about a week ago, but I didn't really believe it until I read the official word. It's pathetic how they were billing it as the kickass event of the summer, yet they were totally unprepared and didn't have their shit together.

08-04-2001, 01:31 AM
Yea I had the Decksanddrumsandrockandroll cd. Take California, Velvt Pants, and On Her Majesty's Secret Service were awesome tracks.

08-04-2001, 07:51 AM
You guys don't like Kraftwerk and Eurodance ?

08-04-2001, 08:13 AM
DJ, What kinda software do you use to edit or mix your music files ?
I use CoolEdit2000, but it's slow ...
I have a copy of MixmanStudio4, but it's useful for a DJ, not for me ...

08-04-2001, 03:09 PM
MAN!!! me and my friends have been planning aug. 15th for about 2 months now.. OMG im so pissed off.. i have been waiting my entire life to see bt and oakie at the same show.. ARHGHG!!!!

08-04-2001, 03:19 PM
I've laid off the music scene a bit but my current software setup primarily consists of Sonic Foundry Acid Pro 3.0 and Sound Forge 5.0. Programs like MixMan are ok for just playing around but aren't really geared towards production-level tracking and composition. My hardware, aside from my computers, includes a set of Pioneer CDJ-100S digital cd turntables hooked up to a Pioneer DJM-300S mixer, and a Roland MC303 GrooveBox for additional beats and efx. Like I said, I've hardly done any music work the last year or two but I intend to start up again one of these days just for fun.

I originally started playing around with stuff about five years ago (shortly after I quit playing the piano..something I had done for nearly 11 years but got tired of after competing a number of times), and used FastTracker II along with Cool Edit and Goldwave. This was back before mp3s gained in popularity and a lot of aspiring electronic musicians pumped out tunes in .mod format.

08-04-2001, 08:39 PM
well then, which software is faster than CoolEdit in their performance ?
I would like to edit some mp3 files ...

08-05-2001, 07:40 PM
I haven't used the newest version of Cool Edit and I only use Sound Forge sparingly these days so I really can't say. Cool Edit Pro's a good prog though, so I'd say just stick with it. If not, give Sound Forge or Sound Forge XP (the stripped down version) a try.

08-06-2001, 06:24 AM
well, I have CoolEditPro 1.2 with mp3 add-on ...
but it takes so much time(you know loading & encoding stuff) when I try to save a file i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif
I'd better try SoundForge or SF XP, or just stick with CoolEdit, thanks anyway ...

My best friend, some of ya'll might remember him from his brief stent here as tedwellendowed, got to go to the Blink concert today...I was SO pissed.

08-08-2001, 08:22 AM
I remember tedwellendowed, I think I miss him i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif
but why were you so pissed ? did they (European Blink or Blink 182 ?) wear bra
or somethin' like that ? I don't know, I think Blink 182 is sometimes too much ...

Flying Tiger
08-09-2001, 11:28 PM
Blink 182...I was pissed because he got to go and I didn't.

08-15-2001, 09:52 AM
Too bad, so you like Blink ?
anyway, you and tedwellendowed are close to each other ? what's he doing these days ?
Tell him I'm trying to limit my posts here, but it's TOO hard to do that i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif ...

Flying Tiger
08-19-2001, 03:01 PM
Yeah...he's my friend. But he just posted like 5 posts and he was only trying to cause trouble.

08-21-2001, 07:26 AM
I remember tedwellendowed said "Blue Stool Rox",
and someone whose nic was larrytheblackjew said "Blue Stool Sux".
who was that larrytheblackjew , was it you, FT ?
Are you from Ethiopia ? I know there're lots of black Jew there ...

Flying Tiger
08-24-2001, 05:36 PM
Dang...you have some memory.

08-24-2001, 06:48 PM
I liked Blink-182 before they sold out...

Flying Tiger
08-24-2001, 09:03 PM
What do you mean by sold out?

08-24-2001, 09:43 PM
They've become too pop- they've changed their musical style in order to sell more albums. Some of their earlier music is brilliant... now it's all really contrived and synthetic. And there's something that irritates me about a so-called punk band that poses on the cover of teen magazines...

They were always just a poor man's Green Day anyway...

Flying Tiger
08-30-2001, 05:16 PM
What!? There's nothing wrong with trying to become more popular. There not selling out. They're still a punk band and probably the best one out there right now. And Green Day may be second.
