I like Humphies combination of scrappyness and skill. Good skill-set for a backup PF.

Game over final score 114-107, mavs win.
Good game for a number of guys, especially hump for continuing where he left off. JET getting hot again, Matrix sighting a bunch of times. Though the defense and carelessness of the ball needs some work. We were allowing quite a few of their guys getting steal, especially that other Carroll guy, had like 5 steals.
Some stats of the game
Humphries - 16pts 9 rebs
Marion - 15pts 4rebs
Dirk - 26pts 5rebs 2ast 1 steal
JET - 23pts 2ast 2 steals
Gooden - 8pts 4 steals
Damp - 10pts 4rebs
Kidd - 5pts 6rebs 6ast 5 steals

I know it's just the preseason, but I love how many points per game the Mavs are putting up!

Nowitzki got whatever he wanted shooting 64% for 26-5-2-1
Kidd filled up all the stat categories with 5pts, 6reb, 6ast, 5stl
Terry started like 2-7 and just killed the Grizz. He can just get so hot so frequently that its scary.
Humphries 16-9-2-2 is an amazing stat line for only 21 minutes
Gooden with 8pts, 6 reb in 18 min
Roddy had some amazing passes and I am totally lost as to why they'd want a 6 footer with court vision 10 years beyond his age to be a SG.
JJB with the best +/- but he didnt do much.

He something like
"Well thats what dirk and Jet are for, shooting threes. Shit its only the preseason, so we're just experimenting out there."
Then they asked if he had a girl friend and he said "Unfortunately yes."
He needs a PR guy.

I'm really excited about this team so far. Other than Dirk, Humphries has been our best big man. Gooden is solid. Ross is solid. Beaubois has crazy court vision. Marion is a great compliment to Dirk. This a gonna be a fun year.

We just need to improve our D, and stay healthy. Its preseason but Howard is out for 3+ weeks. Marion is having some chronic hammy problems.

ARGH i wish the regular season would start already , can't wait for at least 3 games per week again. So excited.
:edit: wow, looking at the regular season schedule. Didn't realize we had so many back to backs to kick off the year. That will be a good test for us, good thing we got a bit more athletic. Should help out in those situations.

Its nice to have some athleticism for a change. That was a heckuva play by Marion, and I'd expect we're going to be seeing shades of that all 82 games (and hopefully more).

I know dude, it looked a bit too high or was going to get deflected by Rudy gay. But wow nice job by Marion. That's like the 3rd or 4th Terry to Marion connection so far, I'm sure we will be seeing a lot more connections between the two hehe

With only 3 pre seasons game so far IMO.
The most consistent player has been Jet, good things seen to happen when he enters the game.
The best performance was put by the Matrix in his game against the Wizards.
The biggest surprise is actually a tied between Hump and Gooden. I Know that Hump is getting a lot of love, but Gooden is an efficient offensive player with an arsenal of moves and better handles that advertise.
Dirk and Kidd are looking to be in mid season shape, QRoss and Barea will be adequate subs.
Matt Carrol continues to disappoint, Damp I though play his better game against the Grizzlies, but before that he has been stinking up the joint, And Roddy has so much talent but he will go through growing pains, I don't expect RC to give him much burn at the beginning of the season.

I miss Humble Billy. Also what was the deal with Memphis's rotations last night. Both Randolph/Gasol and I think mayo came off the bench? Gasol in particular checked in, in the 2nd and 4th quarters I thought.
The new HD screens are awesome but almost distractiing. You find yourself watching them versus the court.

Mayo started last night IIRC. I believe Rudy Gay came off the bench though. Their rotations did seem kinda weird. I noticed at least two times during the game where all 5 Memphis players subbed out at the same time - first time I can ever remember seeing that in an NBA game.
I love the new HD screens, distractions and all. I sit in the nosebleeds so it's nice to have a good view of the action when I want it. My only major complaint - the stat board no longer has player names on it which is REALLY annoying. It took me more than half the game to figure out who was playing for Memphis because I'm too far away to read the back of their jerseys.
And I never thought I'd say it but so far I miss Humble too. Hopefully Rodney Blue will win the job - I could definitely listen to that guy.

after 77 preseason games played in the nba, the Dallas Mavericks are the team with the most points per game (114,0), while also commiting the least amount of turnovers(14,33).
http://www.nba.com/statistics/sortab...ml?cnf=1&prd=1
http://www.nba.com/statistics/sortab...nf=1&prd=1#top
Considering ppg and our good but not spectacular fg% (0,454), it should be fair to assume that we play one of the highest paces in the league, making the low number of TOs even more impressing. With a lot of newcomers - again, even more impressing.
We're also the team with the best FT%, at 84%.
On the dark side, we get outrebounded by two and our opponents block too many of our shots(4,33 - differential: -2,66).
I know it's just preseason and there are teams who have yet to play their third game, so the value of team stats at this point is at least disputable, but as long as we are in some of the top spots I wanted to let you know about them.
Oh, and there was this in-game comment from a Wizards beatwriter about Roddy B:
Quote:
Rodrigue Beaubois just picked Gil's pocket and dunked. He looks nice. Has 11 points. Can we start calling him The Darker Tony Parker?
