Yeah i still would love Frank on his team. Just dont let him be your primary playmaker. He belongs in a team with someone like Luka, Lebron or Giannis running the show

He defends every play, and throws the timing of a lot of passes off, and just generally makes it more difficult for opposing guards to get comfortable.

He does fine getting a team into its offense, and getting the ball to scorers where they want it. He'd be a good secondary playmaker, settling a young team down when they get a little bit out of control.

He has a nice shot, just needs to get consistent with it, and he could look to penetrate a little more aggressively; he may not have the speed to beat small defenders off the dribble, but he could compensate with height and reach.

He should continue to attack the basket like he did against Mavs/Porzingis.

He'll be unavailable to the Mavs now, and if he's available at all, his price has gone up considerably.

Pau Gasol waived by Blazers; left foot slow to rehab; coaching role with Blazers anticipated.

Could be a good on-court mentor for KP, if persuadable.

@tommybeer

The Knicks are on pace to become just the third NBA team in the last 50 years to shot below 68% from the free-throw line and 43% from the field

Russ just became the 6th player in NBA history to shoot 30 times and score 20 or fewer points

Coincidentally, Harden became the first to have a 50 point game shooting under 30%.

I don't even think anyone has had a 40 points game shooting under 30%....

And the Rockets are asking that they be granted the win due to a blown call with 7:50 left in the 4th, in a game that went to double OT. They are so eminently hateable.

...after the refs blew two really obvious out-of-bounds calls that benefitted them.

I mean, I'd be fine giving them the two points if they also took away the four points they got from those blown out-of-bounds calls.

I've watched quite a bit of the Lakers this season, and so far what I've seen has confirmed what I felt from the moment Lebron showed up there- Anthony Davis is not only the best teammate Lebron has ever had, but he's the best teammate Lebron could have ever hoped for. AD is the teammate Lebron has needed, and has probably dreamed of his entire career. He may have won two titles with Wade and one with Kyrie, and he very well not win any with AD, but still, AD is the perfect player to maximize Lebron's abilities at this late stage of his career.

This is one of the most fascinating things to me about Lebron's career. He has always been more Magic than Michael. Lebron has always been more comfortable as a facilitator first, scorer second. However until this, his 17th year in the league, he has never had the right teammates. As phenomenally talented as Wade and Kyrie were, and as much success as Lebron had with them, they were both ball dominant guards. And as much as those guys could score, Lebron still always had to be the primary scorer and first option. The perfect teammate for Lebron has always been a super athletic big man who can shoot from anywhere and dominate off the pick and roll. Isn't it telling that Lebron is about to lead the league in assists for the first time in his career, at age 35?

AD is the guy I'm sure he hoped Kyrie would be- the guy who can carry Lebron into his twilight years. The Duncan to his Robinson.

Hate Lebron all you want. You can call him a lot of things, but the one thing you cannot call him is dumb. The dude is strategic AF. He knows what the hell he's doing. I have no doubt this is what he planned all along. He had this sh*t mapped out in his head at least a year in advance. He knew when he went to LA that he would probably have to sacrifice a year of his career, but that it would pay off big time. He knew AD was the one guy who could carry him further than anyone else, and he knew he could get him. For all last year, the talking heads wrote him off, talked of him being washed up, and how horrible his start was with the Lakers. A few short months later, his team has the best record in the league, and he's one of four leading MVP candidates. He's having the last laugh yet again... He knew what the hell he was doing.

No only that, but I'd actually pick Davis as the MVP over him.

I would too, and honestly, I don't think Lebron would have it any other way. He said from day one, both publicly and apparently behind the scenes that he wanted AD to be #1 option and for the offense to flow through AD.

That's what I mean when I say AD is the best teammate Lebron could have ever hoped for. It's funny how the basketball world sort of forgot about AD over the last year or two, while the Pels sucked and he was injured on and off. Everyone was so focused on the Kawhi's, Giannis's and Durant's of the NBA, that nobody seemed to remember that when AD is 100% he's arguably a top 5 player and an absolute superstar.

The problem is that he hasn't been able to stay 100% for long stretches, so recency bias wins out.

That, but I think just as much it's being on a shitty team. People overlook that for the first couple of years of a player's career. There's like 2-3 year grace period. After that, if the team is still perpetually bad, people either (unfairly) blame the player and say he's just putting up hollow stats or something, or they just forget about him altogether.

WestBrick
After going 0/6 beyond the three point line in tonight's game versus the Raptors, Russell Westbrook is now officially ranked dead last in 3PT% among shooters with at least 5 3PA/game in league history
Source - Min 10 games played.
He's now shooting 21.6% from the three point line for the season
