I rated it a 5 mostly because I have limited medical knowledge, but guys that size are a bit more prone. Hopefully the work that Casey and the training staff have done with him will keep him healthy and on the floor.

https://dailyknicks.com/2017/02/27/n...ngis-injury-2/

"From January of 2016 until February of 2017 (approximately one year and one month), Porzingis suffered six different injuries. He has injured his left Achilles, left groin, left leg, right shoulder, right ankle, and right foot."

Slightly more prone because of his size. But strict load management is going to help. ACL is always a freak injury anyway.

2, not really worried at all. His injury is almost a routine one these days. Surgical and rehab procedures are better than ever, and he's 18+ months out. I know the Mavs will keep an eye on it, but if there was no joint damage, then I'm really not that concerned. I'd be more worried if it was a foot injury, but even with Dirk's ankle issues over the years, he was able to manage it and still be GOAT.

he always seems dinged up

optimistically: better training staff, org, load manage, diet, etc.

a lot of young guys start off "injury prone" because they are essentially kids and don't make the right lifestyle choices. Look at Embiid. They've been coddled and able to get by on talent, and a diet of doughnuts and drank. And then the rigors of the NBA season are a rude awakening. There is no offseason if you're serious about being the best. Jury is still out in my eyes about KP. Luka has the eye of the tiger, but also has fun playing and it shows in his approach. KP has a whiff of the narcissist about him. We were so blessed to have had Dirk. Hopefully KP has some of that Dirk career arc, as I know Dirk enjoyed the party scene early in his career. But he was always working and humbled by the blessing of being able to play ball for a living.

This is not quite a normal distribution.
