The game tips at 6:30 p.m. CT and can be watched on TNT.
Mavs vs Celtics
This will be the Mavericks’ sixth back-to-back this year, and they’ll be looking for their first win under such circumstances, as they currently have an 0-5 record this season. If there was ever a set of games they could pull it off, this would be the pair, coming off a win against a Memphis team following over a week off due to Texas’ winter storms.
Notching their first W in a back-to-back would be doubly great because it would put them back at the .500 mark after dealing with a number of early struggles to start the season. One has to imagine there’s some level of added incentive for a team with post season expectations to get back on the right side of the win/loss columns. It would certainly be a good jumping off point as we near the All-Star break and the Mavs find themselves fighting for a playoff spot in a competitive-as-always West.

The Dallas Mavericks are facing the Boston Celtics on the second night of a back-to-back on Feb. 23. They topped the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night without Kristaps Porzingis in the lineup. Dwight Powell earned the start in KP’s place and won the Defensive Player of the Game belt for his performance.
Both players are listed as out on the NBA’s official injury report heading into Tuesday’s game.
How will the Dallas Mavericks adjust without two starting big men versus the Celtics?
Powell played well on Monday night, so expect him to remain in the starting five against the Celtics. Dallas will likely play smaller most of the game with Dorian Finney-Smith or Luka Doncic earning minutes at the four. Tim Hardaway Jr. and Jalen Brunson should both see around 30 minutes versus Boston.

Rebounding is already an issue and the Celtics aren't even that big.

Nice to have a big on the floor rebounding way to go Boban

Nice to see some other faces able to contribute. Rebounding still an issue overall. I counted 7 second chance points in the half but there’s prob more.

The good so far
2nd straight game holding a team to under 60 at the half.
The bad right now
Powell's minutes need to go Boban and WCS the entire 2nd half.
I just don't like him starting and really outside of running hard up and down the floor he brings nothing to the table. Some of his shot attempts inside because of the lack vertical he has now just looks bad.

That lob and miss is another example of Powell lack of vertical and then of course of the offensive rebound right over him again

Painful to watch Luka anchor a first team with 0 offensive skill outside of him.

This is why some fans have pretty much had it with Rick.
I mean the dude is playing 6 minute stretches every quarter and really not doing anything outside of sprinting up and down the floor.
His lift looks terrible when he jumps and you can clearly tell dude is ready to be out there playing those types of minutes.
I'd rather live and die with WCS or Boban playing those 6 minute stretches. No need to for him when there's two other guys capable of actually playing and contributing.

Jalen is so damn good in his third season. He’s become the most reliable outside of Luka. Mavs better hold onto him long term.

Is Luka ok? He was being worked on and he was looking like he was limping a little.

Win or lose, I’m fine living and dying with this roster and getting another playmaker next to Luka. What can KP get us

He was grimacing at the end of third. Even the 3 he made, he put all his weight on one leg. Saw him grimace at the buzzer too

Defense has looked better that is for sure.
I think it's because KP is too slow in rotating at times.
I'd like to keep him but I would prefer RC use WCS more in late game defensive adjustments. He can rotate better than KP....
I'm really not sure who they can get as a secondary ball handler without having to give up much.

Get finney out of the god damn game. He’s not a closer. Can’t hit wide open 3s to save our lives.

DFS shot is broken these last 2 games. He was shooting really well from 3 before the weather break.

After the bubble it seemed like he had carved out a role, but he’s looked pretty bad this season.

Since coming back from Covid, he doesn’t play that much. He’s played 11 minutes in a game without kp and maxi. He had a dnp two games ago. Not a reason to be done with Rick.

I am confused. So many players lean in to get fouls on shots just like the one Brunson took. Why is that an offensive foul? Did rule just change on that?!

They changed it to a 24 second violation, didn’t they?
