Trading away 2.5 players and receiving 1.5 sounds like a low budget horror film.

Funny.

I like the .5 because it makes it clear. For an over/under of 2.5 then 2 would be under and 3 would be over.

So we're going to skip trades, try real hard and either make the playoffs and get bounced by the Warriors or we're going to just miss out.

Either way we get a crappy pick.

Trump better not start a nuclear war, because this is a crappy year to be a Mavs fan.

We love our boys in blue!

Epic fail to keep Deron and Bogut. Just makes no sense.

I'm sure Dirk wants to keep it going, but at some point you have to do what is best for the team.

What Dirk will have to realize if he wants to go through all of this again next season is that having a team full of injured broken down vets isn't the way to go. And when those vets break down, they provide little to no value for your team with regards to wins or trades.

And we can't have an owner who changes his mind all the time on which way he wants a season to go like this one.

Gonna put some blame for the Bogut disaster on RC.
http://www.basketball-reference.com/...1/gamelog/2017

Bogut's game log, and to the shock and surprise of nobody when RC played Bogut 30-35mins not long after he was hurt(happened 2 different times). It's another example of RC being too reliant on vets to win games. Like playing Dirk 35-37 mins in game 1 of the season when he barely plays in preseason and being surprised that his body didn't respond well. And my biggest fear is Dirk getting hurt again. Recently Dirk had gone 28-37mins in 4 of the final 5 games. The only game he didn't go over 28mins was the blowout vs Orlando.

Well I think perhaps we were all ignorant about Dirk and Bogut playing together. Add in the fact that Barnes has been so good at the 4, and you have as many complications as you do positives.

A source said that the Mavericks had previously inquired about Okafor, and could revisit those talks as the deadline nears.

I want a trade

Correction: I don't want a Trademark Cuban trade where we give up youth and picks for vets like Walker, Jamison, Rondo, Kidd, etc

I want a trade where we sell off assets for youth and picks

"The Celtics would most likely welcome Andrew Bogut from Dallas, even though he is on the last year of his deal, but again, cost is the issue. They wouldn’t be offering a ton to the Mavericks, who would have to decide what is a fair return for the 32-year-old 7-footer in his 12th season."

@stevekylerNBA: Mavericks have been looking and listening to options. Sense is they’re open to moves.

Deathknell of trades. It's reported that we're interested

Things are going to be interesting until Thursday, but Friday is going to be sad

Can we make a wink wink deal with Cleveland to buy out Bogut and Dwill so they can sign them for playoff push and all we want in return is... a favorable deal for the Cowboys to draft Myles Garrett?

Edit-
Forgot to add GM Lebron would be all over this to help both his Cavs team and his favorite football team. And I'm not putting this pipe down, so don't take it from me.

Divac has to be the stupidest GM of all time if he's really going to trade Cousins for Buddy Hield of all players. I'd gladly give him Anderson if that's what he's looking for. Cause Buddy Hield has been way overrated for his draft selection this year.

Not sure we have what they're after unfortunately. And Deron may not want to go there. Do they have any use for Bogut? Can't picture him with that team

Is this for real? I hear Divac wants some expiring contracts and draft picks. Mavs got that too.

Cousins could be the last and worst big deal of the Dirk years. On par with Rondo in terms of mental state. Hopefully we aren't even answering calls about him.

It's worth the risk actually. Did you forget we have Barnes and possibly Yogi for the future?

Exactly. We have something to lose. Dumb risk.

We trade our first rounder and some youth for him. Either he behaves himself and we're still no better than an eight seed with no easy way to improve or he has a tantrum and we're a lottery team with no pick. Count me out on both possibilities. No upside to that deal.

He's also said that he won't re-sign with other teams. NO also thinking of offering two firsts and Hield. That's a steep price for a 25 game rental

I think Carlisle can coach a team with Cousins, Dirk, and Barnes. Mainly because we've had the likes of Odom and Rondo already. So it's not that big of a dumb risk. Team looks much better with a Barnes and Dirk. Could be finals contender adding Cousins.

Yah no.

Rondo and Odom are great examples, but not for the reason you're thinking. They go to show that Rick isn't a panacea and can't fix things above the shoulders.

Also Cousins doesn't make us a finals competitor even if we could afford him as a 25 game rental

That 25 game rental can get the Mavs to .500 and a playoff spot. It's different when Yogi has been playing like a legit PG. Mavs do have young talent to take the risk at trading with getting Cousins. Also I know Cuban is a fan of his when he has his brother playing on our D-league. Which is funny.

I think the funniest part about this is the lakers leaving talks when Brandon Ingram got involved.

Oh well, Mavs are still sitting pretty. What's going on with Charlotte? Mavs should talk about Bismack Biyombo
