We already used our stretch provision.

Cousins and Smart...why not sign Trump and Kim Jong instead

Exactly. Trump and Kimmy are both gods among men. The best players. The best. We'll win so many games we'll be tired of winning. So many games. It'll be unbelievable.

My explanation for Powell getting minutes is that RC wants to develop him as a big who can spread the floor by hitting the 3. That would open things up for inside drives, whereas NN clogs up the middle. You see him doing the same with DFS. Its ugly when they don't hit shots, but if they develop some confidence, it would be a beautiful thing.

Boogie is a great talent but I see no way in hell that he and Rick would mesh.
Nonsense vs no-nonsense.

Except DFS can defend. Powell literally has no other skills. He cant do man-defense. He can't do help defense. He can't rebound. He can't move without the ball. He can't screen well.

I'm not even sure he can consistently hit a jumper despite being 2/3 so far.

Count me in the minority then. We have a formidable center who appears to not have issues. Why why why are we trying to still chase big FA. Shoot me.

Mavs have been trying to develop him for years now. If it was going to happen, it wouldve already happened for Powell. Last year was his last chance for me with the big contract he received. And he was more or less what he's always been.

Best case scenario: Trade Wes without taking back salary. Stretch waive Powell. 60m in cap space, enough for two max contracts. Tank naturally. Secure top 6 pick. Take BPA. Sign Cousins(30m) and Marcus Smart(22m restricted).

Boogie
Barnes
Porter/Bagley/Doncic,
Smart
DSJ

This team plays 2018-19 together. Barnes opts out the following summer and we have another max salary slot open for a 3/4 "glue guy" that can shoot the 3 (ala) Otto Porter to go with our three studs

Mavs 2022 NBA Champs
I like the general idea, but not the personnel... Why not get rid of Wes/Powell for nothing, sign 2 max FAs, then go over the cap to re-sign Noel? It's a bigger draw for bigger FAs.

I mean [takes giant toke off of God's bong]:

DSJ
George
Barnes
LeBron
Noel

Yeah, that's the good shit right there...

All numbers approximate

Someone like Smart, Avery Bradley, Caldwell-Pope. I'm not entirely sold on Boogie either, believe me. But if you have a shot at a top-10 league talent you have to take it. Only way to win a championship. Aside from the Ben Wallace, Rasheed Wallace, Prince, Rip, Billups anomaly. And even that team had 4 all-stars

A formidable center who's been yanked around since he got here...and it carried over in to Game 1 of this season.
