You use that word. I do not think you know what it means. If one person is as hard on 18 and 19 year olds as you are and someone else gives him a break, that isn't hypocricy. It's a disagreement.

He's also not the face of the franchise. He's a gift for Doncic.

Ok???...
Dirk got sued by a woman. And his personal coach got arrested for tax evasion, but Dirk stood by his side.

How could you tolerate such a trash behaviour from your franchise player? tzz tzz..

Dude, your signature is highlights of Josh "high as a kite" Howard with the tagline "the good ol days"

Can I remind you that he was a player who broke the law and league policy by smoking reefer on multiple occasions-- and endangered others/committed a crime by driving 95 MPH in a 55 zone and you are criticizing KP for getting his butt kicked by hooligans in his own home town.

The irony of quietsavant's posts is what is truly comical. He wants the face of our franchise to be a model citizen while he berates anyone on here who disagrees with him. Go figure.

I hope no one thinks he's not worth an extension. The Mavs have no choice... I do think he has some red flags... I also thought Kidd, West, Stevenson, Tarpley and Howard had red flags... I've never been comfortable with people's adoration of Jason Kidd... not at all.

Good god, some of these comments and replies...

This isn't hard, guys. Porzingis has the unfortunate timing of two unfortunate issues, neither of his own doing. Extortion and getting jumped? The fuck does that have to do with Porzingis' character, as if you know him personally? You can argue he should have better security detail but he is not the first, nor the last, professional athlete (or insert prominent male figure here) who will have some crazy broad attempt extortion.

And yes, I'd defend him the same damn way if he were still a Knick.

Call me a hypocrite all you want, doesn't change the height of the fall from that high-ass pedestal you're on. Not as light a word as you think you're throwing around here.

This most recent event speaks more to KP's judgement and not his character. Character assessments should be based on a history of one's behavior, apparent motivations, and sense of morality, whereas poor judgment lies more in not understanding the possible consequences of the decisions you make. In many cases, you can learn to make better judgments and decisions, but changing one's character and integrity are more rooted in the DNA and therefore more resistant to change. Mavs should assign KP a mentor (Dirk?) who could provide advice and give him gentle direction.

I do not think you will know if KP has a character flaw for another couple of years at least, but its best to be fair and optimistic about his future rather than assuming this is a chronic unfixable problem.

It is a little concerning how he always seems to have drama surrounding him. He may not be the one instigating it, but I hope one day he learns how to not put himself in a position where these things can even happen at all. He needs to just spend this summer working out and playing Fortnite with Luka. None of this would keep me from signing him to an extension this summer though.

Is there something else that happened other than these two incidents? Does he have a checkered past that I'm unaware of?

If a job moved you to New York... do you think you'd ever change who you support? I cannot imagine ever supporting any New York teams. I'd be decked out in Dallas gear and only go to games in which they're playing against my Dallas teams. DFFL.

I was born and raised in New York and never rooted for any of the NY teams. Hated the Yankees, Mets, Jets, Giants, and Knicks. I thought the fans were totally delusional and obnoxious. I wonder what that makes me?

Apparently true. Fisher makes it into "no big thing", but it's a big thing until proven otherwise.

Likely a small non-displaced fracture since they all say it's no big deal. Probably still hurt after a few days and got a cast put on so it can heal. I think they'd already have stated if it were a bigger deal/break since it'd be months, and not weeks, to heal.

They do casts for almost anything. Strains, sprains, breaks, etc.

I'm concerned for sure, but not alarmed.
