I think it's fitting that the Spurs are Dirks' final foe. Pop likes Dirk and I'm sure they'll
do something special for Dirk as well.

The end of an era approaches. :-( What an amazing ride. Thank you Dirk!

Anyone else having a rough day? This is hitting me harder than I thought it would. I think I was in denial this season.

Yes. Outside of just being up late from the game and having to get back to work early this morning itís been tough. Sadly, I had to attend a funeral for a friend of mine from college before the game, so of course that wasnít easy. I keep thinking about last night. The atmosphere. The tribute videos. All the time Iíve spent watching Dirk over the years. The ups. The downs. Reading articles from all the people he has influenced in his own special way. Iím sitting at work getting teary eyed just thinking about all the good times Iíve spent with a man Iíve never met. Iím 35 years old and sports are less important now than when I was younger because I simply donít have as much time to devote to them. Iíll never love an athlete as much as Iíve loved Dirk. The ďUncle DirkĒ video last night was a real tear jerker. I still get choked up thinking about it. I think we all knew it was the end, but didnít want to accept it. Iím glad he went out in his terms. Tough day indeed.

Pop and the Spurs will certainly send the big fella off right. Pop certainly appreciates and respects Dirk and everything he has done for the game. Will be flipping between the Mavs and the Stars game tonight.

Chuck Cooperstein: Mavs list Maxi Kleber as out for tonight in SA. Luka Doncic not on the list so expected to give it ago. a triple double tonight would tie Jason Kidd’s franchise record of 9. And Dirk will play. How much remains to be seen. 2 hours ago – via Twitter coopmavs

Well said, and same here. Especially the bolded part is true for so many of us, I have to imagine.

I was fortunate enough to be able to take a vacation day on relatively short notice, which helped, or I wouldn't have gotten any sleep at all (given that I watched the game and festivities from Germany). Couldn't take two in a row, though, so tomorrow will be even harder for me.

At the AT&T Center, looks like a Mavs home game... More Dirk jerseys than Spurs jerseys.

The plus is that it has erased any caring about tanking. When you realize you have Luka and KP, then why be greedy? Dirk retiring would be a lot worse if we didn't have those guys to look forward to.

In fact, the way Luka force fed Dirk last night is a crystal ball to how it will be with KP. Light from the dark.

Luka's demeanor last night made everything so much better. His joy was a joy to watch.

There is really good chances that he is pulling a mini-Dirk, he strikes me as such a guy. Also because he saw the entire year how the franchise and the fans pay back loyality.

Today i was kind of bummed out that i never went overseas to see Dirk live. Before 2011 it was a financial issue not being able to blow a few thousand euro for such a trip and after it it was always in my mind but the team kind of started to suck, me and my wife wasnt big into "lets make holidays in the USA" etc and we just never started to talk or plan such a trip. But i think next season with Dirk returning and Luka, KP etc we would have went...well, now its too late.

Dirk cried, I cried... Spurs fans were fucking awesome with that intro.

Dirk & Pop embracing near halfcourt slayed me.

Props to SA for the intro for Dirk. Very Classy. If a home game wasn't possible, SA is the perfect game to wrap up end of last season of Dirk's career. Mav v Spurs during Dirk's career included the best playoff battles I've ever seen, regardless of teams playing.

Obviously Mavs are not interested in winning. TeamTank in full effect.

Would like to see Dirk finish the game on a high note but I think his legs are exhausted. LOL
