Greek Freak on Luka Doncic: ‘I knew he was special’
https://www.mavs.com/greek-freak-on-...e-was-special/
Quote:
“I was telling my guys in the locker room, he’s going to be good,” Antetokounmpo said. “Watch out. He’s a 6-7, 6-8 point guard. He has a feel for the game, can pass the ball, shoot the ball, smart, has a high IQ. He’s going to get it right away.
“They were like: he’s going to be one of these overseas kids that come over here and don’t play out at the end. I was like, no, he’s different."

Like i thought, his extrem buzzer beater attempts (great that he doesnt give a shit about his FG%) has significant impact

Scoring is up, but efficiency is down. I guess it's his version of the rookie wall and having to shoulder so much. I'll take it lol. Except the freebies. Those have to fall...

Yeah, I expect rookies to be inefficient, especially when there aren't any other reliable scoring options on the team. FWIW, Lebron shot .417 in his rookie season.

LeBron 20.9 pts on .438 EFG%, 5.5 reb, 5.9 ast
Luka 20.7 pts on .506 EFG%, 7.2 reb, 5.6 ast

@tim_cato: Dwyane Wade on Luka: "quote me right where I say this – it’s LeBron James-like from the standpoint of how he’s able to rope that pass to shooters in corners, getting blitzed. There’s not many guys who can do that and put it right there. He does an amazing job of it."

Nah, he’s a bitch... But there’s no higher praise than praise from your enemy.

@townbrad: Charles Barkley on @luka7doncic: “That’s a bad white boy . . . We’re getting really close to little black kids in the ‘hood wearing his jersey”
https://sportsday.dallasnews.com/dal...wearing-jersey
Quote:
"I like what Dallas did. I mean, they got two young studs. They got cap space. They got probably the best player-friendly owner in the league. I tell you what, if they could get one of those free agents, they could change the balance of power really quick, especially if Porzingis comes back healthy."
"Because let me tell you something, that boy Doncic, he's the real deal. As we used to say in my day, that's a bad white boy. I mean, (expletive), he's not there yet, but we're getting really close to little black kids in the 'hood wearing his jersey. Real close. It used to be Larry Bird, Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki, Ginobili, that was it. Doncic, if he keeps playing like this, we're going to see his number in the 'hood."

Just click on the nba.com all star page and see who is there. This isn't a link redirect...this is the MAIN page. http://www.nba.com/allstar#/

The league is so hypocritical. Not voted to game, but more pics of him than anyone else as I scroll down the page. Maybe good for Mavs next year?

Yeah once the "injury" happened, I was excited.
Then they came out and basically admitted that it's an excuse to not play him without getting fined. He will magically feel well enough to play the ASG and then magically be injured again when he has to play for the Pels.

"For NBAStore.com he's the second-highest selling player behind only LeBron (James)," said Panasik. "For us in the arena, he makes up 25 percent of our overall Dallas Mavericks business, and he's 50 percent of our player business."

The Athletic is always pumping out high-quality articles... I'd link every single one of them on this site, but anyone who subscribes has probably already read them.
