Default RE:Rick Bucher on Dallas, Toronto and NY legs

This 3 way between Dallas/NY/Toronto seems like some NY writers wet dream. However, I'd make the trade. Penney could help out at PG and Vince is considerably younger than Fin.

I dont want anything to do with this trade unless we somehow acquire a big man in return. Otherwise, keep looking.

Denver is looking to sign a swingman guard for around $3mm. Surely we can do something to "help" them there and end up with Skita?

Pacers want to move Croshere/Pollard. There are several scenarios that will work here.

Assume the Toronto deal goes up in smoke.

BigZ can still be our target. Walker can still go to the Knicks. Cleveland can get veteran help at C/PF and cap flexibility next year in Mutombo's contract.

The point is, we can still have several possibilities in getting some size at C and a veteran PG. It all depends upon whether we go after a 30 min. a night center or jsut add to the current center rotation.

If Mavs are sold on Norris as a veteran PG (I am not for the Mavs) then he can be traded for 1 for 1 at any time (Delk for Norris for example).

New York trades: C Dikembe Mutombo (5.6 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 0.4 apg in 23.0 minutes)
C Kurt Thomas (11.1 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.9 apg in 31.9 minutes)
PG Moochie Norris (3.5 ppg, 1.0 rpg, 1.8 apg in 12.8 minutes)
New York receives: PF Antoine Walker (14.0 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 4.5 apg in 34.6 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -6.2 ppg, -7.7 rpg, and +0.4 apg.

Dallas trades: PF Antoine Walker (14.0 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 4.5 apg in 34.6 minutes)
PG Tony Delk (6.0 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 0.9 apg in 15.4 minutes)
Dallas receives: PG Moochie Norris (3.5 ppg, 1.0 rpg, 1.8 apg in 66 games)
C Zydrunas Illgauskas (15.3 ppg, 8.1 rpg, 1.4 apg in 81 games)
Change in team outlook: -1.2 ppg, -1.0 rpg, and -2.2 apg.

Cleveland trades: C Zydrunas Illgauskas (15.3 ppg, 8.1 rpg, 1.4 apg in 31.3 minutes)
Cleveland receives: C Dikembe Mutombo (5.6 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 0.4 apg in 65 games)
C Kurt Thomas (11.1 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.9 apg in 80 games)
PG Tony Delk (6.0 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 0.9 apg in 33 games)
Change in team outlook: +7.4 ppg, +8.7 rpg, and +1.8 apg.

TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to New York, Dallas, and Cleveland being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. New York, Dallas, and Cleveland had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
I love this scenario, but my immediate reaction was that it would be impossible. But upon further review, it makes a lot of sense for each team. With Dampier in place for the Knicks : Mutumbo wont see the court unless the game is completly out of control, moochie is a player that they would like to get rid of, and thomas is worth losing to get walker(a guy the Zeke loves). Clevland can fill their PF void that bozzer left while also adding a veteran center that can mentor Diop.

For the mavs it is a no-brainer. Get rid of walker, add center and point gaurd! Brilliant trade
