He still has plenty of time to turn it around, but Monk is looking more and more like a bust. He has been absolutely terrible so for.

Yeah, kinda shocked about him -- dude was a scorer in college, which is one of the easier aspects of the game to translate to the pro level... His percentages are WAY down across the board.

Those clowns in Charlotte are trying to make him into a pg. Or at least it looked that way when I watched. It could work out, and it would be ideal for his size to be able to play the point. As someone who disliked when we did the same thing with Roddy, I'll say I hope they just let the kid do what he does best eventually. Maybe it works out in the long run but for now it certainly looks like it's taking away from what he does best having him do things I'm not certain he will ever be more than adequate at.

Yea I followed him for a bit since I went to Arkansas. No hard feelings that he chose Kentucky, it was a business decision. However, I do not think he has a future as an NBA point guard. He'd have to drastically improve his handles, then comes the passing and learning how to spearhead an offense. Not to mention his best strength is scoring off ball. Catch and shoot, slashing, etc. At his best, he can become a Buddy Hield-type, with a chance to be better. He's 4 years younger so he's got time.

Monk will be fine. At worst he's a taller, way more athletic Lou Williams. But I agree with Bryan Wilson. Let the kid play and do what he does well! They have a damn good PG already

Yeah, agreed.

I'm more worried about Charlotte asking him to do something he can't and not developing him right than I am about his actual skill. That supporting roster there is also trash so defenses are even more keyed in on Monk.

I remember a guy who averaged 8ppg, 3rpg on 40% shooting and 20% from three his rookie season.

That guy has 30,518 points, is #6 in scoring, and a lock to make the HoF.

Rookie season shooting numbers don't mean a whole lot.

Bulls now 3-0 since mirotic came back. Amazing.

Also amazing how bad okc is. They’d be so much better with Wes. Would they give us first rounder for him?

Is it wrong to question Westbrook's capability as a superstar when he puts up huge numbers but his team can't win without help.

He honestly seems a lot more like a Garfunkel than a Simon.

Was Cuban right when he said RB isn't a superstar?

If you define a superstar as a guy who can carry any old roster to the playoffs (like Dirk had for most of his career), then yep.

Noteworthy that OKC got Anthony and sent NYK Kanter and McDermott.

Anthony, by his own admission, is struggling through perhaps the worst slump of his career (and his worst experience on-court since l'affair SugarSmacks). Prediction: It's gonna get worse; it's called 'aging'. OKC sinks to sub- .500 from a 47-win team a year ago.

Kanter as a starter and McDermott as a key reserve are both productive contributors to a NYK's resurgence, and are helping to keep the NYKs heads at/above .500.

Anthony arrives, Thunder gets worse; Anthony leaves, Knicks get better.

Westbrook doesn't seem to be creating many opportunities for Anthony or George or anyone else, mostly just playing hero-ball.

Porzingis, on the other hand, has helped a bunch off rag-tag journeymen (Jacks, Lee, Hardaway, Thomas) play over their heads for a quarter of the season now; and he is still learning to pass out of a double team, still learning how to post and when to drive. Despite his 37-point performance against LALakers last night, he seems to have cooled off from his phenomenal season start. Still needs to get stronger, and needs to stop flopping 30x per game, and looking for refs to bail him out with a call. But his mere presence and ability to hit outer-borough 3-pointers creates opportunities for others.

And while KP doesn't put up dominant rebounding numbers, he definitely impacts NYKs on the defensive end. Opponents know he's there, and get distracted going to the basket, missing otherwise routine bunnies. Seems like O'Quinn gets a lot of blocks when drivers are looking for Porzingis.

KP is doing what an MVP does; Westbrook is not (and never did).

Bulls aren't nearly as bad as they looked earlier in the year. If they win this they are 4-0 since getting Mirotic back. Dunn looks a lot better than when I watched him also. Who knew a young player would get better with playing time?

We all give tons of shit to Ball, but man Josh Jackson is easily worse. It really shows what happens when you can't shoot. You simply have to be able to shoot in today's game.

Ball's shot is butt ugly. I've seen odd (Jamaal Wilkes), unorthodox (Jack Sikma, Reggie Miller), and awful (Shaq).

But some people who know don't seem to think it is a difficult fix.

Fix Lonzo Ball's Shot? Here's the Blueprint

He and Porzingis had a bit of a shoot-out during a stretch of the Q3 a couple of nights ago. As for the rest of his game, he shows spectacular flashes. Gotta give him some time, let the rest of the team develop around him as well.

I never thought I'd see anyone more obnoxious than Spike Lee courtside at MSG. And then I saw Daddy Ball.

Funny I was listening to Colin Cowherd before the draft, and he picked his one bust and picked Monk and Cowherd had me 100% convinced the guy would bust. At that point, I had an irrational fear Mavs would choose Monk.

Couple more from way back. Dick Barnett from the Knicks lefty who shot on the way down with a weird leg kick. And Dwayne McClain great college player played on Villanovas championship team that knocked off Georgetown. His was hard to tell if he shot it left or right handed and he threw it from back over his head

I heard on the radio earlier that Corey Brewer reached out to Kevin Martin about working with Lonzo on his shot. They seem to have a similar shot. K Mart said he was willing to work with him, but not until the offseason and only if Lonzo reached out to him for help.

Lonzo's shot is never going to improve as long as Pa Ball keeps insisting that he's perfect... The only way he's ever going to grow is if he completely rebels against his father's control (which is a story as old as time itself).

Its not just the flick whats the problem with Ball. Just a flick is easily to fix. Its his entire position of the feet and shooting motion where he brings the ball from down over his hips etc.

Arenas had a great video. If he doesnt rebuild his entire shooting motion, the defense is going to exploit his ass. Right now he cant go right at all (and he doesnt do it) and from downtown he need another step back crap so no one will ever go under a screen

Shot is ugly as shit, but he was a career 76.5% free throw shooter.
