What do you think of WCS being used more for late game defensive strategy?

Obviously that would require the Mavs to take KP off the floor and lose his offense late in games but watch this video below as it show's how WCS is the more effective big on the roster in Pick n Roll defense

This is him vs Dame Lillard, which I noticed a few times in that game he was able to recover and force Lillard into tougher shots at the rim.

Carlisle benched Porzingis in some of the recent games and used Cauley-Stein or Powell as more mobile defenders in the pick and roll. On a good night, Cauley-Stein is definitely the most mobile big defender on the roster. Here you can see Cauley-Stein using his agility and speed to contest Lillard on several drives to the basket.

On/off data shows that Dallas is currently a much better defensive team with Cauley-Stein on the floor. Carlisle can use him in certain matchups, but can probably not afford to bench Porzingis for longer stretches. Cauley-Stein is also not a player who performs well in an extended starting role and on a consistent night-to-night basis.

My take is KP is soo fn bad defensively that RR should have already been subbing wcs more for him but I guess we need the potential for an 8 foot guy to pull up from 67 feet for a long 3 so we can't afford to keep him off the floor. How can you have a game that ends 159- 165 in a close loss if you have better defenders out there playing? Pfft. God forbid we teach him a lesson on not focusing or studying how to defend by limiting some minutes.
