NBA Players didn't pick Luka to be All Star starter
I rarely pay attention to NBA All star games anymore and honestly, I haven't watched one in like 10-15 years. Even when Dirk was participating in them.
But it did kind of shock me that the vast majority of NBA players actually felt like Dame Lillard should have been a starter and TNT crew felt he screwed not to mention Mavs being a bad team right didn't help Luka's case with them.

The media also picked Dame over Luka at a similar ratio. I don't get it, but maybe it has something to do with giving respect to the veteran. Dame is amazing, so it's not exactly an insult.

Dame should’ve gotten it. He’s playing better, his team is playing better, and he’s the most clutch guy in the NBA. Fans wanted Luka and everyone should stop crying about it, especially Shaq.

Yep, they went through the stats for Luka and Dame on some sports show this morning(I can't remember which show). And it looks like the case is better for Dame.

I agree
The fact that Dame has played on a team missing like 3 starters most of the year and the Blazers are still winning as opposed to Dallas not even being a .500 team.
He should be consider for MVP this year and Terry Stotts should get some COY recognition.

But Luka is loved by the fans because of Luka's obvious love of the game
While I appreciate Lillard's skills, he seems to be a drama queen and demands respect

Lets not forget the strength of schedule is heavily in Portland's favor
Dallas strength of schedule is the 4th hardest. Portland is 25th

From the Athletic
The Mavericks have been the team most afflicted by COVID-19. While there have been teams that have lost enough players due to health and safety protocols that they’ve had multiple games postponed, Dallas has had that happen only once. (The team must almost wish it could’ve happened more — if it could have happened without more positive cases and symptoms, in any manner.)
No team has lost five separate role players while still maintaining a healthy enough roster to trudge through this year’s incessant schedule with a makeshift rotation often featuring rookies and end-of-the-bench players who are hardly ready.
And no team is now dealing with reintegrating four players recovering from a brutal illness that saps conditioning and stamina.
