I think Luka needs a game off. He looks deflated and tired. I don’t think he will though because he wants to win ROY and the media has been claiming that Trae has a chance (even though it shouldn’t even be a question Luka is the clear ROY).

Yeah, missing all 3 on the 3-pt foul sure hurt.

Is JJ out of his boot? Looks like he is wearing sneakers in both feet on the bench.

Come on guys...Luka is having a bad game but losing is what we want at this point.

I think he's physically and mentally pretty run down. If it wasn't for ROY, I think he'd be sitting a few games. I still think it would do him some good to at least miss the next game and rest.

Feel bad for him. Easily his worst game. Hindsight and all he prolly shouldn't have played tonight. He just looked wrong all night.

Agree. Still, maybe a silver lining for him for motivation... missing those FT's. Here's hoping he successfully addresses that issue during the off-season.

Agree, but he seemed to be moving normally though. Just seemed out of it mentally from the get go for some reason tbh

Yeah that's what it looked like to me as well. He was noticeably limping at the end of the Houston game, and played through it fine. I didn't see any limping tonight. Just looked like he got tilted early, and never recovered mentally. Maybe the Refs. Maybe something about the way the Spurs played him. Becky Hammond is supposedly a good game tape analyzer.

Apparently Luka is still on the court shooting FTs: https://twitter.com/PeasESPN/status/1105674936268582913

I love the Dirk-like work ethic.

He had no help. I stopped watching in the 3rd but up until that point there were times when I saw 3 guys defending him. Double team and another guy was not far behind skewed towards Luka. I don't know many players that do well with that. He definitely misses those lobs to Jordan too. There's not a huge threat after Kleber or Powell set the screen. When Jordan was setting the screen either you respect Jordan or he was going over the top with a dunk.

In these GDTs, Powell plays the role that Kurt Rambis and Mark Iavaroni used to play (for Abdul-Jabbar and Moses Malone, respectively): taking shit calls (bitch comments) so the stars don't have to. 20 points, 7 rebounds. #lightningrod

And it was so sad to see him trying to defend 33 year old LMA

Right, because LMA never hit a jumper over anyone before.

Q: Why didn't Kleiber or Luka defend LMA?
A: Because LMA scored over Kleiber, Luka and Finney-Smith with equal ease, just as he has over pretty much every top NBA defender for the past 15 years.

Sad nothing. That's what a role player like Powell is for--taking the tough, thankless assignments of defending (or at least occupying) the other team's best threat, taking the fouls, trying to make the other guy work a little bit for his points, letting the more skilled players conserve their energy.

Do you even want to imagine what Luka's line would've been if he'd been called on to defend LMA? You wanna see an exhausted puppy, put Luka down on the blocks to defend LMA.

Powell does his job and then some.

Powell has nice offensive output this past weeks

Powell still sucks at defense, even if he can often hide it with some pointless "show" hustle

He is bad fit with KP

He isnt worth 10m in our roster building arounf Luka and KP

So hopefully bye bye at july 1st.

Really couldnt care less about Dwight at this point. He shouldnt have a future on this team.
