(I figure most of you have seen this, but thought I'd post it just in case.)

Celtics sign Strickland; place Forte on injured reserve

November 1, 2001

BOSTON (AP) -- The Boston Celtics signed veteran guard Erick Strickland Thursday, placing rookie guard Joseph Forte on the injured reserve list with lower back spasms.

Strickland averaged 5.2 points in 50 games last year for New York and Vancouver. He was traded midseason in the deal that sent Othella Harrington to the Knicks.

Previously, he averaged 9.8 points in four seasons with the Dallas Mavericks. His best year was 1999-2000, when he averaged 12.8 points.

Forte was the Celtics' third pick and the 21st overall in this year's NBA draft. He scored two points in 13 minutes in Boston's season-opening win over Cleveland on Tuesday.

Strick must be kicking himself in the nuts for opting out of his contract with the Grizz..giving up a cool $6 mil and getting nothing but a one-year $600k paycheck in return..

Isn't Strickland married? If so, he doesn't have to worry about kicking himself in the nuts. She's doing it for him.

That was the dumbass move of the offseason.
