in general, if you don't do anything wrong you don't need to "spend dollars to defend" yourself. again, just what accusations are you referring to?

harry truman had a memorable quote that seems to be very appropo to your rationale for her resignation..."if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen". well, she left the kitchen pretty darn fast. sure doesn't place her in a very favorable light.
