This is nothing new - I remember hearing about these "recruiting" techniques back in the mid-90s (and it's been going on since the 70s...)

Exploiting children is nothing new either - we're exposed to it every time a child starts crying over some toy they don't need because the commercials during their Saturday morning cartoons told them they NEED that plastic crap (not to trivialize what's going on in the Middle East, just pointing out how easy it is to warp the minds of the innocent...)

On the topic of terrorism - if you want the problem to go away, you should probably deal with the issues that motivate people to turn to terrorism in the first place (stuff like abject poverty, the rape of natural resources and the westernization of a culture that doesn't want to be westernized...)
