Brian Wilson, arguabely one of the greatest musicians/song-writers of all time gave up on his concept album, Smile, because Sgt. Peppers blew his mind so much that he just gave up. Primarily because it was the sound he wanted to make - one that hadn't been done before. it wasn't until 40 years later he finished that album. all because of the Beatles. I could go on....but, this topic is overrated.
