As to those Chicago quotes, that's a perfect example of how a lot of fans see all the bad in their own players and all the good in other team's players. I'm no fan of Gooden but I doubt he's going to be as bad as they say.

However, I do find it interesting that a lot of talk is circling about the Mavs "switchability". And they definitely have it with their long, athletic lineup they're going to start. But the one constant you hear from every assessment of Gooden is that he forgets assignments and does not make the correct decisions on defensive schemes like pick and roll defense. That does not breed a ton of confidence in his role in the "switchability"..
