NBA games are very different from any pickup games people play year-round. Garnett is only 33 but his knees are shot and he's playing like a 36 year old, if not older. The wear and tear of NBA games take a toll on players.

I am just not sure I agree. Of course this where the questions come from, and gambles are/not taken.
