Landry is a Mavs killer, so I'm certainly glad he is off the Rockets.

Martin is a fine pick-up who will look even better when Yao returns.

For the Mavs though, they needed a center as part of the package. If the choice as Martin or Butler/Haywood, then with Damp's injury situation you do the second every time. The Mavs would be horrible defensively if they had Martin right now and possibly no center at all if Gooden was part of the package.
