Yes, but there were close to 10 seconds on the clock. If they don't foul, at worst, the score is tied and the Mavs get the ball back with a timeout or there is overtime.
With this, though, they make both FTs and it is suddenly a 1 point game with 10 seconds left. The Griz did a poor job guarding Dirk on the inbound but what if Beaubois or someone had to catch it and then they missed one FT? In that situation the Mavs could lose the game on a desperation 3. Dirk made it all moot in the end, thankfully.
