Sloan'll stay retired. I think this is an example of Houston cutting ties without an idea of their next coach. I could seriously see next season beginning with an interim coach or else poaching a college/assistant coach.
Its a bad move by Houston but not a puzzling one if that makes any sense. Coaching a bad team is hazardous unless you are coaching a team without aspirations of being good (Raps, Clips before Griffin). Adelman got the team playing as solidly as the roster would allow. The team finished the season 10-5 and 4 games over .500 all without a real star. Im not really sure what else he was supposed to achieve with the roster (as well as the moves they made).
