If we start thinking about tanking, then we should start thinking about trading Dirk. Until our hopeful high pick will have blossomend into a decent NBA player Dirk will be too old anyway. Trade Dirk in mid-season to a contender and get some young quality back. You still can tank the season and start rebuilding with the young quality player and the high pick. There's no point of wasting another year with Dirk on purpose.
