D-Fish has absolutely now (twice) used his family to get out of a situation he didn't want to be in.
Maybe he was clashing with Rick, but I think it may be even simpler than that. He thought the Mavs might be decent, instead they're now 3 games below .500. He has no interest in being on a non-playoff team.
