Obviously, as 5-0 pointed out, the more you shoot, the less likely you are to have a statistical outlier. The more you shoot, the better chance that you're stats will reflect your actual ability at the line. If Dirk shot 1 ft in a game and missed and had a 0% FT% and Shaq shot 1 FT in a game and made it leaving him with at 100%, obviously no one would think that Shaq is actually the better FT shooter.
