Sure, but people who spin a story reach a lot more eyes/ears than people who originate a story. It doesn't matter what Cuban actually said so much as what people THINK he said - especially when the topic is one that people can't wait to overreact to.
Best to keep his mouth shut, seeing as how his statements gain nothing but could cost him quite a bit in the realm of public perception, even if they're misconstrued... It's not like the free agent class this summer is smarter than the average idiot when it comes to social issues.
