I was actually thinking about him playing club basketball in Germany, not the national team. Bayern Munich, the most famous soccer club of the country, has also been trying to build a successful basketball team in the Euroleague - Europe's most prestigious tournament for clubs. Dirk, who is a bavarian though not from Munich, would be a major scoop for them.

As for the rest, in order for the Mavs to win a title with Dirk playing in such a reduced role the rest of the roster would have to seriously improve. Our FO has shown they can pull of some good trades, but it would really need to outdo itself if this was to occur.
