I don't think Cuban COULD have given Jordan what he needed. Jordan was only going to get that from the Clippers.
But I think Cuban misread that, and 'misoverestimated' his sales ability. When you don't have the product, the pitch had better be perfect.
Did anyone in the world believe Jordan had Shaq's ability? Seven years a pro and his arsenal is lobs and dunks. Biggest giveaway of his mental weakness is that 7 years in, he can't hit 40% of his FTs. And he becomes a liablity because of it. And that was there for the whole world to see, right along with that zero-IQ stare.
