Maybe, but I doubt Phoenix's flirtation with Aldridge played much into Chandler's decision... Honestly, his chances of winning a ring with the Clippers was probably better than the Suns' chances of signing Aldridge.
No, Phoenix had to make a power move to even get into the room with LMA, and overpaying Tyson was their best chance... I mean, who else was going to dedicate $52m over 4 years to a 32-year-old center? Nobody. And Ty was smart enough to take their money without hesitation.
Like I said, I don't blame the guy... But if winning rings was a priority over getting paid, then he should have waited to see how things shook out between the Clippers and Mavericks.
